If we don't hold on to this we are doomed

Newport winning

Carlisle and Tranmere losing

Bloody connection to iFollow collapsed, and it took 20 minutes to reconnect!

Missed two goals, including Dackers' first goal of the season!

What a fantastic result. Well done everyone one involved. We looked so much more confident and weren't we so lucky to get Andy Dallas at the last moment. We can only be more confident that we can escape from the bottom of the league now. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS.
COME ON YOU MORECAMBE REDS.

So, I missed a crap bit of defending yet again, to give away a soft goal to Fleetwood, and then a lovely goal for Dackers. What a superb cross from Lewis, and a delightful header. You could see how much it meant to him!

Really good game. Now, follow it up on Tuesday.

Pete Wild, Fleetwood's manager was very honest and complimentary about us, admitting we were best all over the pitch and we deserved to win. Rare to hear an opposition manager speaking like that.

Fantastic result and great to see Dackers reaction and the crowds response when he scored his goal...

Shame about the mindless Fleetwood fans casing problems in The Hurley Flyer afterwards...but the police were quickly there in numbers...

Well these type of days have been few and far between, it was good match, nothing really between the teams except creating chances and finishing them. Well done to Derek and his assistants for going 4-3-3, our movement up front much better especially playing off Dackers.
So glad Dackers finally got his first league goal for us.
Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Dacker's reaction to scoring (at last) and the crowds reaction to him says everything about our wonderful club. Now ........onwards and upwards.

First time I've seen a goalscorer cry after his goal but that is what Dackers did and his goal was richly served after giving as much as he got fron Fleetwood's animal Rooney.

The result of the season. Dallas was awesome and so pleased Dackers got his monkey off his back. Win Tuesday and we are out of the drop zone

I just want to give a shout out to Hope, unlucky hitting the woodwork, but his movement, puzzled the Fleetwood defence. He closed down well and got us the penalty, his best game for us.

If someone could just slip him through when he makes a little dart forward.

It hasn’t to be a one match wonder, maybe he’s done enough to keep the shirt, but he has to continue to earn it.

Post script; Tollitt has lost the shirt after falling out of form and if other people come in and do well he now will have to wait his turn to get the shirt back and that can only benefit the whole squad, healthy competition in the squad now, even the bench looks stronger.

His touch to lay the ball off for Dallas's goal was delightful, too.

Was funny how the Cods kept singing score off a set piece, obviously works for them.
Dallas clearly made a difference, perked up our front 2 and got them into gear.
Loved the Dackers and Lewis celebrations, brilliant, more of the same please with Derek telling them to go forwards rather than one up front on his own, scared them to death

Been impressed with Matt Taylor and his no nonsense defending, like when he gets the ball, he hits it forward(long) straight away when under pressure.

This 4 3 3 suits us, a formation I have never seen Derek play before.

He has done it but it’s been on very rare occasions, a few on here have been calling for it, ( No names :D ), being more attack minded and 4-3-3 does not change Derek’s style if people work that bit harder and that starts with the front three both in and out of possession and our front three worked really yesterday.

It will have been noted that we tweaked our tactics, but it’s up to the players to keep up the same intensity game after game as it gives us hope we can get our selves out of the position we are in and the Newport game is a big part of that, back to back wins and a good run of results are needed not just a win then 3 losses 1-0.

Hate to steal Redalert1970's voice of doom role, but as well as Newport and Accy, we face the current top 3 in our next 5 games.

Derek may try it again against Newport but I doubt whether he'll risk it against the top teams. It does, however, show that we have the right players to adapt to different styles now.
