True enough. I mean a draw could be a slip up in that it's not 3 points...

Mind you if we win three and Shrewsbury (or Dagenham) also get max points we could both qualify if Rochdale completely blow it and only collect a point from their last two.

Just got back from a superb walking weekend based in the North East and saw signs for Ashington.

Took me back a few years as they were the first team we played in the then newly formed Northern Premier League.

I think Ken Waterhouse was the manager at the time with Robert Altham as Chairman or was it Eddie Baines?

We joined the Northern Premier League as Lancashire Combination Champions, pipping Guiness Exports (great name!) to the title. I think I remember as a lad the announcement over the tannoy confirming us as League Winners after we'd just won 4-0 in our last home game.

Who'd have thought at the time that we'd be where we are today without having won another title?
