Vadaine Oliver has been released by Gillingham.

His stats definitely improved after leaving MFC. Not sure what wages he would be on but I would have thought Gills would have kept him if they are looking for promotion next season.

I read somewhere (can't remember where) that he wanted to move back up north, so it may be that he's refused to sign a new contract, therefore been released?

So how did that work out then?

The one thing Vadine has that we need to improve on is increasing our heading ability up front.

Not suggesting for one minute that we should get him back although different managers would use him in a different way than Jimbo did but at Northampton he was ok.

Seems to be a similar situation to when Oliver left us - turned down a contract for geographical reasons. I believe his base is around Sheffield(?), and he then proceeded to move to Northampton from us. Based on that, who knows where he'll go! Great aerial presence and found a good goalscoring touch when serviced. Not sure he'd offer the same hold up play that Stockton does though.

Always thought that Vadine was unfairly criticised when with us.
Half the time he won the ball and hold it up or flick it on. The problem was he was usually so isolated his job was thankless. Lack of support was his main problem.

Jake Turner...he who was taken off at half time by DA ;) ...has been released by his parent club Newcastle United.

Somehow I suspect his future lies in non league.

Paul mullin scores twice for money bags Wrexham in a nine goal thriller against Grimsby in play off semi final . But sadly ( for them ) not enough losing 5-4 in extra time ! .

Poor old Wrexham.... :D shows that money doesn't always deliver, as we know very well.

Final winning goal in the 119th minute...

They will just throw more money at it next season

Think they have been out of the league for 14 seasons now - just proves that money doesn`t always get you promoted

Rhys has certainly improved since he left us but seem to recall him being more of a defender than a striker.....but could be wrong.

Another ex Shrimp who on current form I'd make welcome back to our club.

he was a right forward who liked taking long range shots.

i just remember him looking unfit and blowing after 60mins in a game and then being taken off, hence DA letting him go and liking players who work their socks off for 90mins.

Apparently Toums is very close to signing for Chesterfield

Would be a fantastic signing for them ...maybe that experience they need to get them back in the league

That silly EFL site says Wildig is close to signing for Newport. Not impossible with his base down there.

Believe he signed a 3 year contract at Accrington too so Bohemians must have made him a good offer
