Now he’s playing in the North West Counties League.

He is on loan from Sunderland. He has had a back injury recently.

He is on loan from Sunderland

Article says he was released in the summer, so makes you wonder if he didn’t apply himself to the level required and was released when his treatment was completed

Greg Abbott who was with DA in his previous managerial role of our club is now the Head of Recruitment at Carlisle having been with DA at Ross County.

Greg was responsible for bringing a number of quality loanees to the Maz and DA has not to date brought in a new Head of Recruitment or First Team Coach that I am aware of.

Greg Strong is still at Ross County I think.

Greg Abbott is a former Carlisle United manager and is recruitment manager for Carlisle.

Wish him well and sorry that his injury record to date has resulted in him having a stop start career with us as he could have been a valued playing member of our former squads.

Have you noticed how many views this thread has had since it started in August 2022......incredible :!: :!: :!:

Milwall were considering loaning Adam Mayor out to n EFL1 club up until Christmas but his hamstring injury has changed things for our former player who will be out for around 2 months minimum.

The Milwall manager said Adam needed to bridge the gap between EFL2 and the Championship hence the considered loan deal.

Didn't we sign Ibrahim Bakare at the same time as Carlos Mendes-Gomes? Bakare chose to leave and go to Cardiff without playing any games for us (as I recall)?

Looks like he's had a bit of a crazy career so far.

Signs his first pro contract for us in 2019. Then apparently contract terminated so he could join Cardiff U23's. Between September 2022 and March 2023 he managed to sign for 5 different clubs around the National League North/South level and lower and ultimately ended up at Vancouver FC in Canada where he was released from in Feb 2024 and hasn't played since.

Remarkable that a League 2 club has taken a punt on him but he is still only 22.
