From what I remember, the shops didn't actually want "traffic calming" and better pavements etc. They knew people went there in cars because they could park easily and freely. Council just couldn't help themselves because they wanted their slice of the pie by restricting parking and hoping to cash in from pay & display car parking and parking fines etc.

Add to that the stupidly long time it took the council to do the work like you say.

just the same with parking on the prom !

Wonder ifthe transfer windows is about to kick off for our club. Could be an interesting few days and weeks ahead.

My eyesight isn't that good this morning :o but could be a new player in the squad this afternoon when I froze the video taken from the team bus picking up the squad on their way to Bradford. The 'new' lad has short cropped ginger hair and is at the back of the que boarding the team bus.... :?: :?: :?:

Nice try at returning to topic RR :D Yes, that lad has no squad number on his top, very interesting. Have you seen the comment underneath the tweet?

Joe Nuttall on as second half sub for Blackpool at Rotherham! He makes a great run gets in a goalscoring position and passes it! Commentary team say he's so low on confidence at the moment!!
Don't worry be happy!

Matt Scrafton from the Blackpool Gazette has heard nothing about the Nuttall rumour and doubts we could cover the lads wages. Had a nightmare today and missed 2 good chances. Rumour is they paid 750k for him so he is nit going to be on peanuts.

One of the new signings was sitting in the stand among our fans.

A centre forward , and the name sounded like Jordan Slew. He has been at Plymouth per his Wiki so possibly 2 + 2 = 4

Good height and might work well alongside stockton, especially from set pieces and already known to Derek.

If it is him, he's certainly quick...

"In March 2015 he was caught by police speeding at 156 mph in his BMW M4 on the Cambridgeshire section of the A1, in what was the fastest recorded speed on a public road in the UK for more than three years; he was banned from driving for six months and handed a £1,400 fine".

Not a prolific goal scorer, 13 goals in 140 appearances for all clubs. Has appeared in the Premiership in 2011/12 but in non-League now. Could he be a diamond who lost his way a bit?

So how did that work out then?

Sounds like a diamond who deserved to lose his way if he was driving at that speed :o

Scrolling through Twitter and it seems like we might have found another Richard Brodie. Jordan seems to make a lot of his former teams Worst 11.

If it's Slew it's very worrying

More clubs than Nick Faldo

Also looking at stats not played at Ashton United for over a month so don't know if injured or left

Was on trial at Chorley in the summer but they let him go. Has he been at Boston after Ashton? Blackburn once paid over a million quid for him.

Slew is an interesting rumour as he signed for Argyle under Adam's reign and only lasted 1 year before being released. Not very confidence inspiring, particularly when you look at the rest of his career to date. As said above, a bit reminiscent of Brodie.

IF he is signed for us I hope he proves to be more of a goal scorer than Oliver because we can't afford another expensive waste of time when we are in need of a small miracle to get us out of the poo... :!: :!: :!:

Looking forward to seeing who else DA has got lined up.

Can't see Burnley letting such a prospect go mid season especially when he has been captain of the U23's of late. Sounds to be an organizer and takes his role as Captain very seriously indeed as leader both on and off the field.

Got the info about the lad from the Burnley FC official site.

So that could be 2 in to date..... :?: :?: :?:

Phillips is definitely coming, although highly rated he isvhe is quite a way off being in the Burnley 1st team pecking order so all in all a good signing.

He was definitely at the game with his daughter and wife. He was in the toilet with me too :o

Wondered at the time who he was as never seen him before and just looked like a footballer for some reason in my head with his flashy dressing.

If memory serves, he was sent off for faking a dive at the home end at the Globe while playing for Plymouth. Baz pulled out and he went down like he was shot!! :D
