Im not sure about Slew be reminds me of Joe Mswali unpredicatable he could be brilliant or he could be useless.O'sullivan looks far more comfortable on the ball and you can tell he has more quality.

This graph shows how we took the game to Colchester.

Adam Phillip's goal was our 700th in League football.

Thought first 45 was poor but things livened up in the second 45. We deserved at the very least a point if not all 3 and had Colchester very much on the back foot for the last 15.

Of the newbies i thought that the Burnley duo proved excellent and our new defensive midfielder was a calming influence in the centre of the field giving instructions to those around him.

However Slew was no better than what we already have and am surprised how DA has gone for him. We still badly need a goalscorer and for me Slew will not fill that role.

Speaking briefly to MrP at half time :o , he sounded adamant that his prediction of a further 3 signings is still a possibility. I just hope that one of them is a striker with some semblance of a proven goal scoring record. On the evidence of yesterday's starting 11 I'm not sure where an extra 3 bodies would fit in and more to the point who they would replace,

GT looked a distressed figure as he prowled the touchline seeing his right hand berth be given to Cooney. Maybe DA was giving Cooney a chance to prove he could take over from GT IF as predicted by some that GT moves on to bigger and more financially advantageous pastures However did hear a rumour that GT would prefer to see the season out with us at the very least. But he will have very little say in the matter as ManUtd will dictate his next port of call.

Once again Carlos was inspirational in his play and seemed to be given as free role by DA who deserves credit in giving Carlos an extended run in the first team. It more than justifies those amongst us who have long advocated that he was given more game time. For me I'd give Jagne a role at least on the bench 'cause he has a lot pf potential.

Can't understand that we only had 6 subs :?: but the no show of Lewis and Co was significant and would expect some news about his and their departures.

Let's not write off Slew after just 67 minutes of football in poor conditions. Let's also not forget that if there is a player with a proven goal scoring record - they are not going to sign for us.

We only had 6 subs as one member of the squad needs to be a Club Developed Player and nobody fits that criteria (they must have been with us 3 years prior to turning 21) - therefore we can't name a 7th substitute.

It looks as if DA might agree with you in one case but not in the other.

That is a fair comment about Slew, but regardless, he looked a bit “lazy,” ( might not be exactly the correct term) and that is nothing to do with quality, or conditions. We will see.

Of the newbies Slew was somewhat disappointing, but I agree with Jack about not writing him off too soon. As for George Tanner, whilst I fully sympathise with him wanting to play, having seen Ryan Cooney play 90 yesterday, he was both my man of the match and first on the team sheet for Tuesday. As good as George's been, Ryan looks better. I'll reserve judgement on Diagouraga for now; just thought he was lacking a little in confidence, which will come hopefully with more game time (but not too much). At the end of the day there will always be a difficulty in attracting the best players to the side bottom of League 2, and Derek seems to me to have done pretty well thus far.
