1st signing

Well, every days a school day, I never knew this.

The thing with contracts in England is that player contracts expire on 30 June but, if a player doesn’t have a club, the club he’s about to leave or he’s been released from is financially obligated to pay them until the end of July.

Yes , if a released player hasn't officially signed for another club by 31st July the club releasing him have to pay him his July salary as a sort of pay in lieu of notice.

I was right but I wasn't expecting 3 signings !

He was Scunthorpes best player in the 1-1 draw at Glanford Park in our promotion season, and got himself a two year deal at Bratfut, Hughes doesn’t want him but he did a job for DA. Very skilful and can pick a pass. Hope this comes off as I’ve always liked him.

Freez, do you know that D.A. has been interested in him, or are you suggesting a player we could go for ? Just curious.

Gilliead has signed a 2 year contract at Bradford so we can cross him off our wish list. His loss.

Looking through my Twitter feed today it looks like more signings imminent (possibly tomorrow)

Cammy Smith not getting a good review on the Partick forum (one fan said he stole a wage last season)

Hope he proves them wrong and does ok for us

1 goal in 61 appearances as a striker is concerning. Can't say this signing excites me much but like you say if Derek sees something in him then hopefully he proves me wrong.

Don't let that worry you. I suspect he is more of a creative midfielder than an out and out striker. The King has the knack of getting the best out of players.

Still a lot more to come in especially in the creative area of midfield. Have to say that at the moment our goal scoring options don't fill me with much enthusiasm but time will tell.

Hopefully the loans that DA will certainly need prove to be as successful as Jenson and Co last season but as it stands at the moment we still need some quality in the squad.

DA will have to work his magic once again but if anybody can.... he can... :!: :!: :!:
