Heated debate is fine but constant mud slinging isn't fair on anyone.

Nobody is right, opinions are like arseholes, everyone has got one.

So by all means discuss and debate but stop with the playground insults please.

I agree Freez. I love Morecambe & have done since the Jimmy Harvey days but lately with all the squabbling & people who don't come any more whom I used to see it just makes me sad. We all have different thoughts & different ideas but some sadly don't allow you to express them only when you agree with them. It would be pointless supporting a club if we all agreed with each other but feel other fella fans should respect that. We are all not perfect but we have our own thoughts. I will still get behind Jim & the club I love no matter what. I am going to leave it at this before it gets out of hand.

Well boo hoo for you. If you like it they can speak, if you don't they can't?
I can't speak for them but what probably grinds their gears is the same clueless few going on about style of play again and again. Change the f'ing record please. We've got a good manager and, for the most part, the fans think he's a good manager. Just get over it. There isn't enough of you to force him out, you're not getting what you want, so why not try with a bit of positivity instead?

If we'd had the team being run like Boro suggested in that post we'd definitely have gone down. You can give it all the 'we might not have' as much as you like, but we would have gone down, full stop. All but the totally cluless will aknowledge that.
We all want to see attractive attacking football, nobody is denying that. Realistically, at the minute, we've got to look at staying in the division as a priority to that. Maybe some people don't think that, and would prefer to see us as a big fish in lower leagues, that's a valid viewpoint to have but not one that I subscribe to. This isn't a situation like Everton where they've got money to spend. Without the hard cash I'm afraid you can't have your cake and eat it, some people just don't seem to be able to get that concept into their thick skulls, hence why it's being pointed out to them. When you're fighting for your life in a division you don't go out to entertain, you go out to not get beat. It's not entertaining but it's real life. High time some of you lot put your Playstations down.

There was a post from one of these whiners a few weeks back that actually said they thought they would
genuinely do a better job than Jim!? It's that's sort of laughable statement that gets people's backs up.

Can you not get it into your thick skull as well that is your opinion & this is ours. Only because you like Jim doesn't mean everybody has to acknowledge you & bow down to you. Criticising fella fans is uncalled for & maybe why people have stopped coming because of all the petty squabbling by posts. You are a fan like us so respect that. We are on here to agree or disagree so get over it. You like Jim fair enough & some don't for whatever reason. However you have no right to slag others off all because you have thrown your toys out of the pram over the love saga with Jim. ;) You show respect to other fans then I will do the same back otherwise this is only heading for one thing & you know what Keith calls it. The naughty step. :D

another good post Boro !

I don’t think you realise the extent of the sheer amount of people who want Jim to go... over the last few seasons, less people have been chanting and signing his name... coincidence? No, of course not. People are getting fed up, and by ‘people’, I mean MOST people. Now THAT is why attendances are falling, if every fan who had turned up over the last 3 years got a say on here, there would be an overwhleming amount who would say they had stopped supporting/ lost hope directly because of Jim. Just because the same people who post on here thousands of times have one opinion, doesn’t mean thousands of others don’t disagree.

Edit: Yes, of course Jim has a tight budget. But if we’re going to get relegated, atleast go out in style... I’d rather get relegated by losing multiple 3-2s rather than constant 0-0s and 1-0s... The enjoyment factor is a huge part of what keeps people supporting clubs, so to lose games while also playing dreadful football is a double-negative!!

Will be interesting to see how season ticket sales go for next season. To see if the mass exodus that some predict comes in to realisation.
I can see both sides of the argument on this one. Jim has done a miraculous job keeping us up. Both in terms of budget and the beautiful chaos of our boardroom issues.
Saying that however some of the football on show this year has been dire.
Still I'm sure the millionaire professionals of England will frustrate us just as much next month.
Just hope we come out fighting as one in August...

But we've not been relegated!

I do genuinely understand this and at times, I'm also frustrated that Jim doesn't have more confidence in the ability to score three or four. But, I still maintain that with everything else going on at the club, he's worked wonders.

The real question is, would people rather we were relegated playing adventurous football, losing games 2-3 or stay in League Two by grinding out 0-0's and the occasional win?

Obviously, we'd prefer to stay up by playing adventurous football, but if the only options were the ones I suggested, I think some people would rather take relegation.

The whole 'playing crap football to stay up' etc argument has a big flaw. This season just gone was Jim's least successful as our manager, and was the crappest most negative defensive football played. We've had more success in the past with a potent attack and more sloppy defence. I'm not saying we should sack off defence, but I'm not convinced by the argument that we played negatively to stay up this season. We've consistently had higher league finishes playing in a more 'gung-ho' style with Jim.

True, style is largely dependent on the squad we have but I really think we starved our strikers this season, albeit they weren't the best bunch we've had.

If certain keyboard warriors regard our club as a shambles alongside members of staff and the board then they should be glad that they don't support Carlisle. Their fans board is up in arms about the on going saga about appointing a new manager. it sounds as though the Board had decide who they wanted but then the trust said they didn't want him. The preferred choice then had his backroom staff knocked on its head due to the cost that was felt to be too high by the current Carlisle regime. Now he's withdrawn leaving the club desperately seeking a new manager whilst the second choice has also withdrawn not wishing to be appointed as the second best choice. No idea if JB applied or even if the club was approached for permission to talk to him but assuming that he was then maybe he's better off with us. No news about out of contract players accepting new contracts which is a bit worrying.

A hell of a lot of people want Jim out! More than people realise. I know a lot of people who used to be at the games every week, who have stopped going, simply down to Jim, and his awful style of play, and negative tactics.

I actually think there are probably more "Jim out" than there is "Jim In" ...... It's the usual "he once shook my hand in the bar, and bought me a pint" fans, who won't hear a bad word said about him because he's their "mate" ;)

People on here need to wind their neck in.. cough cough NPL daze or whatever his name is! CLOWN!

Cheers.

For the record, Jim has never bought me a pint. I've never bought him one. I've shook his hand. Once.

Bookmark this post for the end of next season then eh and see where we finish in League 2.

Going back here to your post from 2015...

viewtopic.php?t=20481

Bit of a pattern.

We've survived year on year on year against all the odds in League 2 where Jim has worked bloody miracles working on a shoe string budget. A shoe string which is frayed and fraying even more.

Yet I'm a clown....

Don't take it personally, I don't know you. The reason I called you a clown, was because you are quick to tell others, who have a different opinion to yours, that they should wind their neck in. My original comment of "reel your neck in" has been covered before and was in direct reply to BoroRedShrimp telling Shrimpy he was being "pathetic."

As I say, that has been covered before so we'll leave it at that eh?

I have every confidence in Jim, long may his good work continue.

We really must have a better season that of late, not only for the fans but also for JB if he ever has expectations of moving on to a bigger and more financially stable club. He's been overlooked for the Carlisle job I suspect and unlike before is not even mentioned as in the running for the Shrewsbury job. When the likes of the sacked manager of Grimsby is now being mentioned as favourite to take over at Carlisle then his record at MFC is now holding him back from developing his managerial career. Sad but I fear true.
