You've probably posted more today than in the past month. Why? Because we're behind? We are still in a good position for the remainder of the season. An it's not season over unlike you seem to think judging by your comments

Never said once the season is over

Harrogate next week is massive.. Don't think we can afford to lose

If teams win their games in hand we would drop to 10th

Very frustrating day. Silly red card as while Ryan Taylor was through, I think Lavelle could probably have caught him. Can't really argue the read though.

Really good second half performance. Loved the switch to a back three to give us a bit more coverage around the pitch - just meant we had to rely on the fitness of our wing-backs and all four who played their today provided that.

I don't think Newport could really say they were the better side. We were excellent in the second half given the situation, and they get their goal on the break when that extra man advantage really told. Was interesting to see some of our fringe players get a chance towards the end in Pringle/McAlinden/Denny. Could be chance for Denny at CDM next week with Songo'o likely to be the man moving to CB. Or potentially Toums dropping and Pringle going into midfield alongside Wildig.

Ellison gets his moment against Adams. Pretty petty in my eyes. Ageing player whose on pitch contributions have been pretty minimal gets dropped for exciting youngster (CMG) who develops into arguably the best player at the club. Made his intentions to be a troublemaker clear on Twitter as soon as he got dropped, so being frozen out wasn't exactly a surprising outcome.

Disappointing result, but under the circumstances we played well. They had the extra man for 50 minutes but didn't really threaten too much. Was predictable Kev would come on and score. Thought he did himself no favours with his celebration though, poor from a former player who spat his dummy out. We move on still all to play for. Lets face it who'da thought we would be where we are now? COYS

Good performance from us second 45 however we must improve our throw ins as the majority seem to go straight to the head of an opponent.

Kevin showed a complete lack of professionalism and for me ruined what was and has been a superb servant for our club. Proved that DA was right to ignore him if the rumours about his attitude was correct.

I still maintain that 11v11 we would have beaten them. We showed what a strong team we are by taking the game to them and restricting them to one further goal. Previously we would probably folded under pressure. The thing is though, they didn't seem able to put us under pressure. If anything, we were the better team.
Well done lads, onto the next one. Keep on fighting.

Petty and sad reaction from Ellison.

Really hurts to lose that after we played well and were worthy of a point. If we have 11 men I think we win that one. Knowing Sam he'll hold his hands up and take the blame for it.

Quinny asked Derek about Kev scoring. Derek completely ignored the question and answered by talking about Songo'o's fantastic strike and Carlos.

I know who shows the most professionalism.....and it's not our former hero....

On a more important note I thought both Pringle and McAlinden showed that they may be worth giving some extra minutes to.....

According to various reports, Kev was treated very poorly by certain people...... I don’t blame him for what he did.

Oh I know. I remember how we all hated him doing stuff like that when he was our player.

My post was about the professional manner that Derek batted off the question.

It was a very Kev Ellison thing to do but i think that he crossed a line there. In my eyes it shows Derek was correct in bombing him out as the club needed an attitude change and Kev was probably the loudest voice in the changing room. The incident where he cracked Tom Brewitts head in to the coach window was an insight in to Kev's role within the squad.

He did seem to shout at John Mc more than Derek though. Not great conduct from a man who champions for Mental health issues.

From what’s being said, it was aimed at derek as he made Kevin train on his own and never put his name on the team sheet

He allegedly shouted “have that you t*#t”

Emotions run high and Kev is an emotional person,

we played well considering we'd 10 mens for most of the game, don't think the Lads will be that downhearted.

And i have no issues with Kevin Ellison's goal cerebration.

We’d all have been really appreciative if Kev didn’t celebrate out of respect but he’s just not that person - he’s Kevin Ellison and that’s what he does.

I totally understand he has beef with the Management and probably some of it is justified but to run and scream in someone's face is beyond emotional. It wouldn't be tolerated on the street so why should a football manager have to? We all expected some sort of reaction but that was out of order for me. I have enjoyed watching Kev's antics as much as anyone over the years but he let himself down today. Fair play to Derek and John for brushing it off.

Sam's tweet: https://twitter.com/Samlavelle5/status/ ... 2766986240

"I can only hold my hands up and apologise for costing us today and letting the team down, even though I still strongly disagree with both decisions. And nobody is more gutted about today than me by the way"

Feel terrible for him, didn't have the best game but he's been fantastic for us all season. I'm sure he'll come back stronger.

Kev didn’t shout anything at all, he just screamed in joy/anger at Derek and Macca, so that’s bollocks, we were yards away on the balcony, it just didn’t happen.

Still vented his anger joy at the bench, can't flower it up any other way, let himself down DA obviously didn't fancy him and so far he's been justified with our position and how we have played. Kev will always be a club legend but his reaction today, although expected was piss poor

Obscenity or not, still out of order from a club legend. He could have gone about it so many different ways rather than charge at two people and scream in their faces.

I noticed that Flynn pointed down the tunnel when talking to Ellison after the final whistle.

I've got increasing lack of confidence in our goalkeeper after watching and re watching Newport's 2nd goal.

For me his positioning was all wrong and he left too much space on his left which allowed the Newport player an area at which to aim for in his shot at goal.

Letheren's movement was too slow and his reaction was for me laboured.

In the last 2 games he's let in 5 goals which at this stage of the season and with so much at stake in particular the incredible number of teams fighting for the very least a play off spot we need every player and in particular our goalkeeper to be on their game.

DA has dropped other 'keepers for under performing, so it's time for Mark to be given the shirt once again , a shirt which for me he should never have lost.....
