As a keeper would not be a priority loan signing for us I assume Scotty has asked to go out on loan for some games.
Southports keeper was sent off on Saturday so maybe them.

It's not a 'loan' deal, Lewis is unattached at the moment. Possibly cover tonight and a chance to have a close look at him?

If Davies hasn't gone out on loan eg injured how would we manage to pay Lewis's wageswithout going over the salary cap.

Perhaps this is an 'emergency loan' and they are considered to be outside the salary cap restrictions?

OK its not a "loan" deal. He has signed a 2 month contract which suggests more than cover for tonight.

and if Grimsby had kept their fans under control there wouldn't have been a problem. their fans were shocking that night taunting the Morecambe fans who just wanted to clap their team.

We are always getting warned about pitch invasions at CP yet nothing was ever done about grimsby.

That fine was bloody harsh!

You only have to read the Visitor to see people who have been found guilty of much worse let off with a warning, community service or a small fine.

What did the FA do about the invasion that led to the incident?

We don't need another keeper on a 2 month deal..we need defenders on extended loan deals.

Defenders in 2 positions, a midfielder and 2 pacy wingers, to be precise ;)

That's one heck of a fine. Poor bloke. It's Grimsby that should be fined for allowing the pitch invasion, and that dumb steward should be sacked. What a pathetic woman! She'd get on really well with one of our own female stewards who was recently in bother for abusing an eighty odd year old. Maybe it's time we sent women stewards packing - back to the kitchens out of harms way.

Signing Edge isn't going to help the defence imuch. Agreed that what we need is an overhaul in other departments.

However, it is quite interesting being down at the bottom in a perverse sort of way, as it is certainly a different type of challenge than being in the top half all the time. Every year for ages in the seventies and first half of the eighties we used to be at or around the bottom of the NPL. Maybe we'll be hanging around the lower end of League 2 for a few seasons.

If Scott was only unavailable for last night why have we signed another keeper on a 2 month contract?
We could have done what a lot of teams do last night and not have a keeper on the bench.
We are crying out for a pacy winger and we now have 3 goalkeepers !

I must admit, I'm amazed that this went to court in the first place. Their stewards lose control, Scott ends up in a 'fight or flight' situation because of their incompetence and lashes out. It doesn't sound like he thumped her so hard as to knock her out, it sounds like he just lashed out a 'clipped her'. Wouldn't you think an apology later from both Scott & her club would have been appropriate.

Now then! Don't expect us to protect you from the ladies!!!

Depends what the reason for signing him is? It might be to have a close look at him. It might be to let Scott go on loan, perhaps to a Conference club, so he can get some decent experience? Lewis may then get a contract until the end of the season?

We really were crap then! The start of the season goals were twofold. t

1. To avoid re-applying for the Northern Premier League (for our younger readers, there wasn't automatic relegation from the NPL... thankfully!) :?
2. To finish higher than Lancaster.

No worries, I'd be more than happy to see them in court for a grand + payout.

Looking at it this way does make it a bit clearer. Win win then.

And a gate of 300 for a standard league match was considered quite an achievement.

No, there's no harm at all in pottering around 80th to 90th in the football league with gates of more than 1500. Before Joe Woj's arrival, nobody would have had the remotest dream that we'd be in such a healthy position today.
