To be honest i would have prefered Oldham, Northern club, probably a bigger crowd, still it should be a decent turnout and hopefully a good game.
Once again tonight there have been several results where the team from the lower league have come out on top, its a hard game but it is winnable.

I'm sure we'll bring a fair number of fans, a lot will travel by our standards.
If we play with the desire we did today then I'd be confident, but if we turn up and play like we did at Hereford on Saturday you'll turn us over.

two not so interesting facts
1. Cheltenham have an identical stand as our main stand

I'm glad it's cheltenham. I'm a supersticious type and last year we got knocked out of the FA cup by a team we knocked out of the JPT and I was worried if we got Oldham the same thing would happen.
Cheltenham should be a good match. The game'll be buzzing. It'll be nice to see the pie busy again.

Telly fixtures announced, so I can't see any reason it would be moved

Got to say, I'm glad it's Cheltenham.
No disrespect to the decent Oldham fans in and around Morecambe but I would imagine like most Manc wannabees they would have brought some idiots with them causing businnesses and the local police many problems.
I expect a noisy but friendly bunch from the Robbins and a good game of footy, and a chance to renew old aquaintances from the Conference days. There is also a chance that Loaderbull and some other Hereford lads will come up to support us now they are out of the cup

I always look at Cheltenham as a model of what we would be like if we made it to League 1. A smallish club who orked the way up from the conference and always manage to hang in there.

Got to say 'so am I' Mick
Now that one's history i'm sure to enjoy the game without feeling torn inside and besides as you mention about the unsavoury side of what would have arrived in town from Oldham with the decent fans, our Gavin said it's the worst ground he's ever been to for being worried about his safety during and after the game (J.P Trophy).
I did make a complaint to the Oldham evening chronicle newspaper and O.A.FC but it never even got me a reply, trouble is the club have a main stand down and the home fans have been allocated space in the away end (as was in the J.P Trophy) and that night the club let youths in free of charge, problem being those louts abused the clubs generosity and caused trouble, the decent fans made appologies for em on here.
Anyway no problem with Cheltenham and a great game in prospect

Did you know you're main stand is identical to our stand?

We realised it was similar when we visited your ground Conference days.
Your main stand flows all the way down to the pitchside.
Ours you can walk in front of, yours you can't, or couldn't.
A bit tipsy one day at yours I thought you could walk in front of the stand, hence the amusement when I toddled past in front of the dugouts

What's the strengths and weaknesses in your side, and I supposed you wished for a better start to the season.
Have you performances been good, but the results don't reflect this?

I think it is fair to say that we had a good opening day with a draw at Wycombe then the next 3 mtches were lost although we played quite well at Bury.
Then Sammy re-instated Craig Stanley and 1 or 2 others who had been on the fringes of the team and we have steadily improved with the exception of an awful day at Gillingham.
We now have Danny Carlton back on loan from Carlisle but we are not sure if he can play against Cheltenham.

We have hopefully got through our second season jitters and have made playing staff and tactical changes accordingly. Although we were finding it difficult to win we were also difficult to beat - we have now built on that (albeit suffering with many injuries) and are now in confident mood. Although both our teams have only won 3 games in the League we have only lost 6 games compared to your 11.
Your 40 goals already conceded seems to indicate you have a bit of a leaky defence so our two League 1 strikers should have no problem netting a few
But this is a cup game and anything can happen
Hope your form picks up next month or else you might have to keep our address in your navigation system

A lot will depend on the result of this

You've got to feel for the travelling Carlisle fans especially when they were 1.0 down

Probably won't let Danny play then will they? They are replaying on the 29th Nov, so the same day as most of us are playing the second round. At best, we would know about ten minutes before kick off if Carlisle were in or out.
Unless they are going to let him be cup tied with us anyway?
