"O/T" denotes that it is "Off Topic" which means it isn't anything to do with Morecambe Football Club.
Not putting "O/T" means it IS to do with Morecambe Football Club.

A link to a Tweet from an ex-player saying how nice it was that the Morecambe fans gave him a warm reception IS ABOUT MORECAMBE FOOTBALL CLUB AND THEREFORE NOT OFF TOPIC!!!

I now realise, it is a difficult concept, but stick with it, you'll get there one day!!!

Nice comment. Shame we couldn't keep him. Mind you, our Welsh international is a decent keeper from what I've seen.

Is this O/T thing really that necessary? I've never come across such a thing on any other forum, it's incredibly odd. If you're that insistant on having things notably displayed as O/T then why not create a sub forum?

It was to avoid having a sub forum. Years ago some people complained that they were opening threads that were nothing to do with Morecambe FC, in particular when the subjects got political. Sub-forums is simply something else to moderate and then when people post in the wrong place, move threads to the correct place. So instead of 'off topic' moans, you get 'wrong forum' moans.

Posting 'O/T' is a simple way to let other forum users decide whether they want to open the thread or not.

Isn't that the point of the thread title?

Scott, there when we needed him in 2007 and so close to still being here.
