Thanks for the pic and a 'well done' to Mark and his wife. Looks as though they 'enjoyed' the experience.

Hardest physical challenge I have ever done (with the exception of one Club 18-30 holiday in 1989)!
I put the status update below on Facebook and it sort of captured mine and the wife's thoughts.

"Well we did it! We survived Born Survivor 10km of Hell and pain! Every punishing step was worth it! All of those training sessions paid off! Having said that Kerry and I have personally gained from this!
Not money. Every penny has gone directly to the Hospice.

What We Have Gained:

1 Closer friendships with some great friends.
We have all been in it together from day 1 after Joanne Wilson invited us to do it in the memory of her lovely mother who was taken too soon last year. We have all encouraged and spurred each other on since January. We have shared everything from worries to training tips (as well as some gruelling training sessions with the Queen of Pain Adele). We couldn't have done it without each other and as a result strong friendships have become even stronger! The sense of shared accomplishment was unbelievable.

2 Weight loss
Not saying how much but we have both lost a good lump off us. I plan to keep it off too!

3. Fitness
If you had said to me in November that Kerry and I would be out doing 5 plus km runs together I would have laughed. There was a point two weeks ago when I just knew that I was able to just do it. Kerry has smashed 10km. I didn't have the patience to run for that long (running is boring!). My cross trainer (in front of the telly) has become a good friend that I intend to keep in my life.

4. A Real Sense Of Achievement
Crossing the finish line was one of the best feelings ever! What a rush! That last wade through the river was awesome! It was the point where we knew we would complete the journey. I have had time to reflect on the day and I can honestly say it was one of the best days in my life! Up there with having children, getting married and when Morecambe won the Play offs at Wembley! It will stay with me forever ( Thanks Jo!).

5. Pride
They say pride is a sin but I say pride is earned. You earn it from your deeds. I am proud of Kerry. I am proud of our friends who also completed it. I am proud of the massive support we have had.I am proud that friends and family from all over the world have thought well enough of us or strongly enough about St.John's Hospice that they have donated to our page. It will be around £850! Wow! I can't even begin to tell you how much that means to us! How it has spurred us on through dark days and nights in January and February to get our trainers on after or before a busy day at work to move an inch closer to fitness. I am proud to know you wonderful people who have sponsored us! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
What's next?"
