http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-32895048Wonder where this story will end? Will there be deals made to loosen tongues? Could it all be about to come crumbling down or will this be it? Interesting times?

Meanwhile thousands of migrant workers constructing stadia for the Qatar World Cup are being billeted in near squalid conditions, and many losing their lives because of poor working conditions.
Blatter needs blatting pdq!

The Americans don't mess about they must be sure look how for years they went after Lance Armstrong even though no one else thought there was any evidence and they were proved correct.
Strange how a small country in terms of Football has gone to these lengths and the big European powerhouses haven't.

we've all know about this for decades, I'm surprised they have lasted or got away with it this long.
it's totally unfair who gets to host World Cup's it certainly isn't spread out fairly.
hope they get whats coming to them.

I would imagine that the Americans are primarily going for FIFA for fraud and corruption reasons as the main alleged transactions were all in US dollars which breaches several US laws.
Not before time anyway.
Potentially winding up the Russians over 2018 is probably just a bonus to the Yanks
I dont see FIFA lasting now - this is just too big
Who were their partners again ? Coca-Cola, McDonalds, etc etc
I'm sure they are delighted at this moment

It's a disgrace how the World Cups are allocated. All for developing the game, but not by parading the showpiece international tournament around the world like a freak show to the highest bidder. Giving it to countries that lack the infrastructure/climate to host it in the first place is a joke. Look at all the unused stadiums in Brazil and South Africa. They cost billions to construct, yet many in the hosts respective populations live in poverty.
All the while England, which has the stadiums already constructed and could host the event with little or no additional investment (certainly no public finance), is consistently overlooked.
Why are we even in FIFA? What's stopping the major nations setting up their own federation and inviting others to join? How can an individual such as Jack Warner (head of CONCAF) have so much influence over the international game?

I hope Blatter will be having his collar felt before long.

Initially you think 'how on earth can Blatter carry on', then you read a bit further and realise he doesn't give a flying you-know-what about opinions in UEFA, as so much money's gone to Central and South America under his presidency that he's a shoe-in again. If (and probably when) he gets reelected, UEFA (no doubt excluding Russia) should resign en masse from FIFA. Pretty much impossible to carry on then for FIFA, not just Blatter.

Blatter doesn't give a stuff what others may think. He's now got Putin on his side according to the news today.
And who said that Politics shouldn't get involved in sport.....

Bloody hell, does your irrational hatred know no bounds? If someone is a figure of hate and probable corruption, then obviously they are gay? In fact, Blatter is possibly homophobic himself (you'd probably get on with him). When asked about Qatar's views on homosexuality and it being illegal, he said that gay fans going to the World Cup should refrain from having sex while there.
PC protected for being gay? You really should get some tablets for your paranoia.

Got that wrong.
You never see with his wife.
Look closely, you'll notice, presumably for her own protection, the woman sat in the middle is handcuffed to the other bloke in the photo.
Should England boycott the 2018 World Cup?
Scotland, Wales, and N.Ireland boycott every World Cup Finals, so I think England should too!

So what's changed? He's still in charge and seems to have turned the arrests around into his favour by saying how well the investigation is going!! UEFA haven't as yet followed up with any boycott or condemnation. As always Blatter sails onward and all the corrupt football associations that have benefitted from the money re elected the boss!

Couldn't agree with redredwine more. Countries with any sense should set up a new governing body for international football.

Yep, convinced that was his reason for hanging on in the hope he could avoid at least some of it coming to light. Must have realised the game was over!

No way, our pies are better. The you know what will hit the fan real soon.
It's sad that it's taken all these years to get rid of Blatter. Always been corrupt.
Now it's time that the Qatar World Cup should be changed. In a perfect world to England but anywhere is better than the heat of the desert.
On the human front loads of workers building the stadiums over there have died.
That's not right !!!!!!!

Migrant workers go where migrant workers go.
No one forces them to go to Qatar, Dubai, Saudi, or wherever.
There's no work in their own backyard, they're one less mouth to feed, and off they go!
It's been going on for years, and zapping Qatar 2022 won't make much difference to the plight of migrant workers.
Sad but true!

Doesn't mean that the Qatari's should be allowed to kill them off at the alarming rate that they have done. Over 1,000 deaths so far as I recall.
