What a start to Race Week at the TT
Nothing like it before, for all the wrong reasons
Firstly it was decided yesterday to postpone the Superbikes until tomorrow due to the high winds that were forecast. The plan for today was some practice laps and race the sidecars.
Then there was a two car crash, with multiple casualties. Then a helicopter crashed. Sadly the pilot has died. As a result of the incidents, there weren't any beds available in the hospital. With an area around the chopper crash a 'no-fly-zone' until after the UK air crash investigators have completed their investigation, which means the air ambulances that are used during the races wouldn't be able to enter that area. Still high winds too, so they've knocked it on the head.
Fingers crossed for
The Morecambe Missile tomorrow!

What a brilliant advert for the IOM and something for other forces to learn from. Twitter accounts @tweetbeatiom and @iompolicedogs well worth following with the latter beaming the red arrows display over periscope. Must go back soon.

Awesome race, three riders all break the lap record but the place went ballistic when McGuiness did
132.7mph lap.
Confidence is everything for him, great win, superb racing!!
I'll be watching!!

Good to see Morecambe is a difficult word to spell in the biking/t-shirt world as well as everywhere else!

should have a statue of him on the seafront, on one of these podiums to bring day trippers mainly bikers wanting a drive out to have a photo taken with the Legend - >
could be the new Devils Bridge like in Kirby Longsdale, where you get a good few hundred bikers meeting up on weekends and bank holidays, coming here as an alternative.

Definitely.
Lots of non-bike fans agreeing with the idea.

Wish I could see the thread but I suspect it's one I'm banned from because I asked a question of an admin

yeah, just like LCC have stopped the Cross Bay Walks because of H&S.
The Queen's guide is doing one last walk before his Court date as a final farewell this Saturday, its £10 and that includes transport back to Hest Bank Crossing and money goes to local Charity.
never done it before, one off the old bucket list..

That's a bloody shame!! Ive done it three times and it's always been a great experience. Is this a result of some accident or injury previously on walk??

it does say on that link, sure I read 2 people out of 200 complained on a previous walk, even though there were 3 tractors and St John's medics on the walk, aswell as plenty of people with mobile phones and I'm pretty sure somebody would have checked tide times.

You realise that Facebook page is from 2014 don't you? And that there are walks arranged throughout the summer of 2015? But apart from being a year out of date and not the last walk anyway, that's a good post!

its an active thread Keith, it was started in 2014, confusing thing is there are two different people who are posting on the same Morecambe cross bay walks account
Cedric Robinson(Queens guide) who started the thread under that account, that's who got in trouble for after a complaint for failing to control crowds, but halfway through reading, somebody else(another guide) is using the same account, goes on about saying they are carrying on the walks
there is still is a walk this Saturday.

But not a last walk and not Cedric's "
final farewell".

Dallam running club held there annual cross bay run tonight from Flookburgh to Bolton le Sands raising money for the Alzeimers Society this year.
Just to clear things up, any mention of a guided walk from Hest Bank is likely not to be lead by Cedric, his walks tend to be from Arnside to Kents Bank. It's the other guide who leads from Hest Bank to Flookburgh

Here is a picture, of John Mcguinness, on his way to a new lap record in the Blue Riband event.
He's leaning one way, and the front wheels pointing the other way.
The man's a genius.
