just a idea but what about chartering a train from West Coast railways for this?
lets be honest... Yorks Xmas Market is fantastic and would be a good selling point for the wives/family
usually the trains leave Lancaster at about 8 in the Morning and return about 18.00

what do people think?

Was thinking of doing the train as we need to be in Glasgow next day, so suits me.. If it goes up to Carlisle then all the better

would there really be that many to justify a charter? Even if a couple of hundred took it there would be enough on a normal rattler surely?

Good luck. I reckon with the costs involved in running these nowadays you'll be looking at nearly 100 quid a person...

Is that what's it's come to? You've got to charter a train and throw in Christmas shopping to get to an away game these days?

How's your fence painting going? Can you sit on it yet?

I don't have a flask, and hate beef spread sandwiches. Will I still be able to go?

Charter a train? I would say a 52 seater coach would be more realistic!
