Seriously though, despite his track record against us, I'd sign him in a heartbeat.
Quality left foot on him.
We forgave Kevin Ellison for everything after all, didn't we?

On trial with Fleetwood apparently. Thought he was supposed to be signing for Shrewsbury, I'd be surprised if he can't find himself a club in league 1!

Must admit, I'm sure I heard he'd extended his loan at the Shrews

Just only seen his he's on trial with fleetwood. Hasn't he been on loan once there before ? i thought he'd of signed for Shrewsbury permanent myself. If he doesn't get a contract at fleetwood then he's someone we should be in for...was superb according to Shrewsbury fans last season !

Where has this Scott Boden thing come from? He was hardly prolific at Halifax last season; 10 goals in 38 league games.... Has anybody actually seen him play?
Personally I can't see the club spending any money on a player who is 25 or over. I think they're more likely to invest in a player who has time on their side and can potentially be developed into a better player commanding a bigger fee. I can't see us spending any money on players full stop to be honest.

And a grand total of just 15 goals in 104 appearances for Chesterfield.

I disagree. Jack didn't have a fantastic goal record at Altrincham but we took a chance on him. Before that he had a terrible time at Rochdale before we gave him another chance so Boden is no different. Yes things didn't work out at Chesterfield just like Baz but since he dropped to the conference he has been a different player. Scored 26 goals in 40 appearances for Macclesfield in 2013/14 then moved to Halifax and scored 10 in 38 appearances. I seem to recall him scoring against us as well in 2010 in the 1-1 draw. I am all for as a fan giving ex league players a chance like Jack. I would rather him than Davis,Grant or cast offs like Perkin's whose wage demands would probably be far more. If we are to pick out another gem these are the players we are in need for from the lower leagues.

Also I seem to recall Jack Redshaw 36 goals in 120 appearances.

...and it's now official that he's signed for Newport County today.
Wonder if we are in negotiations with anybody.....
As for Bobby Grant he played 45 minutes for Fleetwood v AFC Fylde the other day but not sure if he's included in the squad for Fleetwood's Training Camp in Germany.

So what's your point? Redshaw had a better scoring record playing for a mid to bottom half of the table league two side, than Boden does for a top half conference outfit?
You must have mentioned him half a dozen times; have you actually watched him play because his record is nothing special to warrant being mentioned in the same sentence as Lowe and Bobby Grant.

At least I am suggesting players more than you who just wants to whinge all the time at other forum members suggestions. This is what this forum is about suggestions & free speech. Have you seen him play yourself at Macclesfield & Halifax to criticise his ability either? We gave Redshaw a chance when he scored 8 goals in 15 starts at Altrincham when he was at rock bottom, so I don't see a problem me or anybody else mentioning a player that may improve us as a whole, especially when we have a budget the size of a cup. Lowe & Bobby Grant's wages will be a lot more than some of the non league players available. Bobby Grant is nothing special either, only a couple of seasons back a few mentioned his tripping antics. Everybody has different suggestions & opinions which you seem to have pleasure of rebuking them. I suggest you should be Jim's number 2 with your big ego.
Don't worry Newport gave him a chance who finished above us last season.Like Jack he deserves a chance. This is why some people don't comment on here due to the negativity of a few idiots who try to belittle positive suggestions .
It seems we did show interest in Boden according to the shaymen forum but he chose Newport instead. So maybe I was not wrong after all with my choice, read Greg45

Scott Bodens record last season was similar to kevs and amonds at a lower level. Glad we didn't sign him to be fair. We will be looking to loan someone in and sign someone permanent I imagine. Not sure we're jamille Matt will got in for fleetwood this season and he could do a just for us. Big strong to hold it up and has got a good movement too. Bobby grant hasn't travelled on fleetwoods tour either so if he can't get a league 1 club he would be perfect for us.

What makes us think Bobby Grant will be an instant hit too. Last season he only scored 6 goals in 32 appearances for Shrewsbury. The last time he had a good goal scoring record was at Rochdale in 2012/13 with 15 goals. Accrington & Rochdale in which he has been successful. Better not say anymore only get RedRedWine started.
Not bothered who we get to be honest as Jim will decide that.

6 goals all season ? It was more than that I think plus he didn't sign for them on loan till December. Be interesting to see his stats ! Shrewsbury fans loved him and he can play in any position up top. Tom eaves from Bolton would be a good loan signing he seems to get loaned out quite a lot !

Don't have a problem with all these players, apart from how far do you think our wage budget goes? Mark Dixon only said there was very little budget for players left, that is why our keeper was released. Even though Jack has gone I doubt he was on big wages but not certain on that. I would not be surprised Jim has to find another Jack Redshaw from the lower leagues.

Yep, he got more yellow cards than goals - 6 in 32 games, since October
