also Tranmere Rovers striker George Donnelly(scouser) left the club on Friday, sure we've been linked with him before, but his record isn't that impressive, and he's been about a bit

but anyway all irrelevant now..

No thanks, he's got pace but that's about it. Rochdale fans said he was awful for them too

Wonder if it was Ryan Bowman who Jim expressed interest in last close season. He signed for Gateshead yesterday from Torquay subject to a medical. In an interview he also said that he was offered terms by another club but that location and footballing wise he preferred Gateshead. He's originally from the North Est so location fits.

Could well have been him actually. Shame we're losing out to conference clubs if so, and not even one with bigger gates than us. I daresay he's based in the north east though which could be a factor.

Good player at that level, but got caught in possession far too many times and his link play was poor!

Exactly.

Certainly far below the level we need to be looking at.

I still would like to see an older striker on board who could take Mullers and the Kelleher under his wings and teach them a thing or two, even if it means that we miss out on automatic promotion until season 2016/2017 when I would hope we are more financially secure to sustain the financial pressures of a higher league.

For me Ryan Lowe who I suspect will not feature week in and week out at Bury would be the ideal person if only for 12 months.

Obviously Neil hasn't put a bet on us doing so well this season . ;)

If we're hoping to do well this season and looking to get in the play offs an experienced striker who is guna get at least 15 goals is needed. It's no good going out signing another young one with potential as we've already got that in mullin who will need someone experienced to help him develop. I was against the idea of ryan Lowe but he probably would be a good signing for us short term loan but I think he'll want to see how many games he gets at bury first off. Bobby grant is probably the best realistically we can get, hope we make a move for him now fleetwood aren't offering him a deal. Calvin Zola is available as well. Great target man and knows we're the net is.

I don't think it was Ryan Bowman we missed out on.

Jim mentioned it being a free agent and Gateshead had to pay Torquay a fee for Bowman.

Wouldn't be averse to Jimbo bringing in Bobby Grant or Ryan Lowe. Both experienced strikers who could do us a good job up front alongside Mullers.

Great player, awful person. He would be less popular than Ellison with opposition fans.

He would fit in well then.

People won't enjoy playing a team with Ellison, Murphy and Grant in it!

I was talking to some Bury fans about Ryan Lowe. They said he's had the odd groin strain problems and is slower now as he's approaching 37. He can't manage to chase everything for 90 minutes anymore. Bury are more likely to let Nadiello move, from their info.

I personally think we need a younger striker who's likely to be less injury prone, who is cheaper on wages and last throughout the season for 90 minutes. How much would Grant's wages would be? Unless he'll take a significant wage reduction.

Bury can afford to keep Lowe as their attendances are larger and when we run out of pies before the match we don't stand much chance! ;)

Bolton are in real serious financial trouble according to my daughters boyfriend and Bolton fan so it's doubtful that they'll sign goalscorer Scott Dobbie.

No, not at all.

He has though scored a first half HatTrick for Kendal tonight.

He's at his level.

Had his chance to come to us when he was still developing but didn't like what he saw/was told by certain folk across the Lune. A bit too injury prone and a few years too late. Still prolific at his level so possibly worth a look if he was a free agent, have him down to train and play a few friendlies etc, but not to risk cash on. If he'd chosen us about four years ago (?) his career may have been quite different.
