MFC Scoreboard (part 2)

OK, I have refined some of my dodgy programming code!
I now have a successful input from a live score feed which will allow us to provide latest scores from all leagues at half-time and full-time. It will be used for the first time at the Next home match.
The idea of the trivia quiz questions has been shelved, as it was difficult and time consuming to put together. The limitations of text on our scoreboard board is a nightmare. With the font needed to make it legible I could only put a max of three words per line (approx. 18 characters), with a maximum of 4 lines !!! Also, at half-time we are very limited for time to show things on the scoreboard.
Overall, I think it is taking shape nicely, and am happy with the progress made in a short time.
Progress being made on and off the pitch then !!!
Any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks,
Brian.

hi,at fleetwood they do this really cool thing at half time where a camera scans round the crowd and picks out a fan , on the board, live, and the lucky winner gets a free ticket for the next game, adds a bit of fun to half time.

Good idea, as long as its not the same faces being featured all the time.

The idea of a camera on fans has been mentioned to me before, and I like the idea.
But, I don't have any feeds from cameras into the computer at the mo. That would be up to the club and their 'media officer'? to work out the possibilities. And, of course it would then up to the marketing dept. about free tickets.
But, you never know, we are moving forward at a rapid rate at the moment.
Finally, please remember that Fleetwood have more money, and a video editing system at their disposal. We have no money, and software that I have written and developed free in my spare time for the club.

Why not bring back the cross bar challenge or a penalty competition

I definitly think a few things like the scoreboard idea and crossbar challenge would help get the atmosphere going at half time, and be inexpensive, it all adds to the matchday experience.

Great, well done Brian for getting the half-time and full-time score-feed sussed! That'll be much appreciated!
Hope we don't see many more 'GOAL!' celebrations for the opposition!

maybe show the man of match award from previous week,[audible if possible]plus a reserve, junior or fan award and also information from the club.
