Wales & home nations O/T

Wales & home nations O/T

Postby George Dawes » Sun Sep 06, 2015 3:26 pm

I'm English but am buzzing more about watching Wales vs Israel on TV tonight and Scotland vs Germany tomorrow, than England, be nice to have all the British teams including N/Ireland in the Euros, at France 2016.

also been thinking lately of Wildig, if he carry's on his good form he's an outside chance of making the Wales Squad? they have had players from L2 before and have a few from L1 in this team/squad

be cool having a Morecambe player in the Euros, unlikely but you never know.

Brilliant by Northern Ireland and fantastic for the Republic for beating the Germans - shame them up the road let it slip

Wembley debut for the Prems top scorer, Vardy.. who has saved England blushes by making the 2nd goal within a minute of coming on..
Fantastic achievement at a later age

I heard a rumour that we were close to signing Vardy when we was at Halifax but the player chose Fleetwood instead!

Aye, but back then it would have been typical of us to have only singed him on a 1year deal, then lost him for nothing at the end of the season. #englandplayer #premierleague

So if we had signed him on a longish deal those years ago do you think he would be an England striker now?

good question! to be fair, i think we have learned, and now give out more 2yr deals than 3 seasons ago.

but if Vardy had signed for us, banging goals in for fun, looking like we were to go up the FL, Vardy might have found himself on the bench. #tinkering

however Duffy moved up the FL when he wasnt 1st choice, so we could have got a Carl Baker type fee for Vardy, they say cream always raises to the top.

Tasty draw that one. Realistically both England and Wales could progress. Tough draws for British Ireland and foreign Ireland.
