What dates the next round ? York or Rochdale would be the choice for me. Is the semi final 2 legs or just the final ?

Some tasty games there. Do we hope for York though for the best chance of getting through to the regional semis?

Can feel it's going to be Blackpool at home....

After the postponing of our pre-season friendly and the return of Redders, it's written in the stars.

I hope........!!!

only thing with Blackpool at home, i feel there is still a major threat of them invading the pitch, they will see us as a soft touch, and good opportunity of getting themseleves media coverge, what gives us the headlines on TV for the wrong reasons.

big policing and security cost, than normal.

They haven't "invaded" a pitch since about 6 of them strolled past the Lancaster stewards so I think that will not be a problem.

think they will only get kicked out of the cup.

dont think it will be a FL issue, where points can be deducted

most clubs have more money to get better/more stewarding and scurity and for additional policing when needed

even against big away crowds we've had in recent seasons Preston, Burnley we never seem to have enough stewards trained to deal with them, we must have only had Denby and 5 other stewards vs 2000/3000 away fans.(in them said cup games above)

thats my concern, they will see us as easy pickings compared to other grounds Blackpool go to in L1' and not have the FL to deal with.

also we could get into trouble for not controlling them.

.... So don't make it easier for them to think that by posting such things on public media! ... Doh!

Who cares, unless we win the northern Final??

In which case it will be one of these:
Bristol Rovers
Dagenham
Gillingham
Millwall
Oxford
Plymouth
Southend
Yeovil

I care, that's why I asked. And I knew you wouldn't let me down :D

I was wondering about the spread of League 1 & League 2 teams left in, given that L2 is more southern biased & L1 is more northern. It will be much harder for a northern L2 team to reach the final than a L1 side. In fact, it is highly probable that a L2 side will reach the southern final but very unlikely a L2 side will reach the northern final.

Sheffield United or Wigan away please. But won't be unhappy with Blackpool at home, as long as Jim gets the lads to pretend they are away! Perhaps, before home games, we should stay overnight at the Midland Hotel and get a coach to the ground???!!! :D

... and you are right. Just two L2 teams left in the north and five in the south, which suits us anyway having knocked 2 of the highest ranked already

Is there any regionalisation in the draw on Saturday.

In the 2nd round it seemed as though games were as local as possible.

The format this year is that the bottom two FL divisions were subdivided into four regions based on geographic location - effectively NW, NE, SW, SE

From the 3rd round (regional quarter finals) onwards teams from the two northern regions (NW + NE)and southern regions are merged (SW + SE) into two separate sections (North and South), with the winner of both playing each other in the final at Wembley.

It gets ridiculed from time to time, but I really like the format as it affords us an opportunity to play some bitter sides locally that we wouldn't normally get the opportunity to play.

Currently 6th in League One, the lowest placed side that we'll have faced so far! Certainly doing it the hard way.

Just as well, if we'd had an easy draw against a struggling League Two side, we'd have gone out in round one!
