A few days ago, completely out of the blue, I got an e-mail from the solicitor we used saying...
"We acted for you in the purchase of the above property in 2006 and whilst trying to archive your file it appears interest accrued on monies we held on your behalf at that time. I would be most grateful if you could confirm your current address so that a cheque can be forwarded to you both. Alternatively, if you wish to supply your joint bank account details, I can arrange for a bacs transfer to be done if this would be more convenient."
Couldn't believe it, 3 house moves and 9 years after we completed!
Replied straight away, and got a cheque yesterday.
Just as well I haven't changed my e-mail address in that time.
