Well the fans came but the team didn't

Another shoot yourself in the foot moment for the club. Pathetic on the pitch today. How many times were simple short passes missed especially around Beeley and Kenyon. Ellison back to his previous ways after a couple of exemplary games.
Next time the club whinge about the people of Morecambe, they need to be reminded of days like this.
But, no doubt it will all be the ref's fault, or the state of the pitch, or whatever reason Jim comes out with this time!

is this not the same team who rolled over Wimbledon, Crawley, Carlisle makng us the top scorers in England?
i can be negative, but credit where its due, we were unlucky, Jims selection and subtitutions were spot on today. in my opinion.

Yes, but they played better in those games. Some of them seem to have major consistency problems. I was there on Tuesday and can't understand what's gone wrong with them in just four days. Like a different team.
Look at Beeley, regularly MOTM last year and usually excellent but the last few times I've seen him, he's been lacklustre at best.
The sooner Murphy is fit the better, we need a leader on the pitch.

We were poor all over the pitch today. Yes we lost to a flukey goal but we didnt really have many chances untill the 80th minute. As for subs i dont agree mullin came off for molyneux then 5 minutes later kenyon came off for kelleher why not just swap mullin for kelleher. Molyneux was awful.

We were unlucky in the sense that both teams created very little and they got a scabby goal.
On the other hand we were crap and it was another uninspiring home performance and 4th defeat in 5.
At least all those extra fans Jim begged to come out turned up, although they won't be back for a few months after today's offering.
Oh and the atmosphere was abysmal.

(never change a wining team )
Jim tried to keep the same free scoring team, apart from Miller who as a knock?
i have been critical of his tinkering of late, so cant complain.

In the last 12 months we have played 24 games at home in the league, won 8 lost 12 and drawn 4, this is the main reason our crowds at home don't reflect our league placing.
Away played 23 won 8 lost 7 and drawn 8. now thats a decent record by anyone's standard its just a pity we cant improve our home form.

Frustrating home performance yet again ! You won't see a luckier goal this season than that, at first I heard people blaming Edwards but hearing reaction on the radio it was just pure bad luck ! Defiantly missed Miller and his link up play with devitt. Leyton orient sussed us out as the game went on an what we was trying to do and they deserve credit. Most of the side weren't at their best today but I've gotta say I'm hugely disappointed in lee molyneux he's been awful so far, that free kick near the end just summed his whole season up !

It was poor entertainment, pure and simple. Of course, they're not going to win every time, but the paying fans want entertainment, they want the lads to look bothered - sadly many didn't AGAIN.
The number of fans has proved that the people will come. It's not the pricing, they came on the back of lots of goals and recent wins and expect to be entertained.
Yes, we need to move on. But Jim and MFC need to stop whingeing and emotional blackmail about the Morecambe people, and people need to stop blaming the cost. Football is entertainment - if you consistently don't entertain, people stop coming.

Lost to a complete freak of a goal today and to a team who were very physical, put their weight about but who deserved to win overall, they picked up most of the loose balls, won important challenges and we should have scored a couple of goals and had a couple of def pens turned down by a ref whose performance deteriorated as the game went on, not one of the team played anywhere nearly as well as they had on Tuesday.......the last 10 mins or so were fairly exciting and Morecambe were really pressing forward and creating chances...and the icing on the cake for me...Ryan Edwards MOTM...he was appauling (cant blame him for their goal)......his tackling was overall poor, his distribution bad, except for the 2-3 yard passes to Paz...and even 1 of those was given straight to an attacker......but got to accept that the team are still doing well, but as the OP says....if a team loses so many at home people will not attend...

Took my son in law to the game today, he's just taken a course for soccer officials, even he said how bad the decisions were today, 3 clear handballs by Orient that were waved away, and the offside errors were outstanding, so before all the blame is put on the team spare a thought for how many we were playing. Oh and my son doesn't support Morecambe !

I guess it is easy to complain about the lack of support after a 3-1 home win. The best salesman in the world would struggle to sell that rubbish on offer today to any poor punter!
Unfortunately, Morecambe FC is all I know and missing home games is something that I just can not bring myself to do but who would blame the 500+ extra that came today for thinking that they will not be coming back?

I think a fair few of us are, understandably, becoming a bit concerned with our attendances and the effect some performances have on it. Good to see a boosted attendance today but it's just one of those games we lost narrowly... just a real shame that it came when alot of presumed floaters came along. Hope they do come back for forthcoming home games but you just never know. If we were getting the crowds of around 5 years ago then most of us wouldn't be as bothered about the result today. Apart from that, Edwards was never going to deserve motm and he seemed to know that when he seemingly reluctantly walked up to receive his prize... and Molyneux was poor again when he came on.

Surprised by some of the comments on here. It was a reasonably entertaining game, albeit the ref did favour them on the dirty play side. It could have gone either way, and if some of our shots had had more power or been more accurate, then it might have been a different story. We weren't that bad, and neither were they. Why we didn't ride their No 32 (Marcos?) more after he picked up a card and then got spoken to? It's a no-brainer but we never do it (unlike opposition teams). Anyway, I've seen far less entertaining games, so I'm not going to get overly depressed over today, in spite of not getting the goalfest I expected.
