Is it time that he was given an extended first team run...and given the opportunity to show what he can do.... :?: :?: :?:

I know defenders shouldnt be judged on goals scored but our current centre backs dont threaten in the oppositions area. Between them Parrish and Edwards have made almost 300 league appearences for us yet have scored just once. Doyle has 7 in 41 for Chorley.

Sadly, Paz isn't up to standard at the moment. With Dugdale injured (again), it would be a good time for Doyle to have a go.

He's arguably a better "footballer" than our other centre halves. However, with Jim's fossilised tactics of just lumping it 40 yards you probably wouldn't see the best of him.

And what would this gain ? Having 3 players in the back four age 21 and under and a left back who can't pass a ball to any of our players, no thanks. Last night was ridiculous conditions and it was a case of Dagenham simply handling them better. This time last week everyone was raving about how good of a solid defensive performance it was at Rochdale. We are what we are, lucky to be in this division with our finances if we can't finish as high as last season or higher then the season will be a success and people crying an moaning saying there done going the game after last night, let's see if that's still the case if we knock fleetwood out and are on the brink of a trip to Wembley, last night was a bad one but we'll have more good days than bad this season for sure !

Agreed.

And as for Paz not being up to standard lately, he didn't do anything wrong defensively the other night or last week, in fact he made a couple of superbly timed tackles against Daggers and generally was well positioned.

Having a back four with Edwards McGowan and Doyle in wouldn't work at all with them all being 21 and under. I thought Paz an Edwards wernt even that bad the other night it was the team as a whole. The defence are being made scape goats for Tuesday night when kenyon and Fleming have got to take as much as the blame as they didn't protect them very well winning the battles in the middle an the 2nd balls. My back four all day when fit would be Beely Edwards Paz McGowan. Once Murphy is fit and we have a proper leader on the field taking control then we'll see the best of us I believe !

We had this problem last season, because our midfield was absent. Same happened in the crap weather. Jamie is great and creative, but not in a gale force wind.
We always go crap in the winter months anyway, should be used to it by now.

Hopefully it will brighten up and the wind calm down by Saturday afternoon, anyone with long arms in the stand can help Baz out, the nets are so close
