O/T EXORCISM OF A CURSED STADIUM.

I am not religious or spiritual, but if I were, I would be inclined to think our stadium is cursed, a lot of fans say it is soulless, what if the opposite was true, think carefully, the scoreboard malfunction was followed by our FA cup disaster, our teams wretched home record defies logic, or reason, as if ,for some reason a restless soul, roused by, what he sees as betrayal, demands retribution for what he sees as a terrible wrong, is the spirit Of JB CHRISTIE, rattling around the globe arena ,thirsty for justice and vengeance, Globe construction themselves came to a demise, after destroying JB's spiritual resting place, taking his beloved team and replacing his name with theirs?
As I said, I am not a spiritual person, but if I were, I would be clamouring for a reinstatement of the name Christie Park, and an exorcism of the stadium ,so the great man can rest in peace.

I've Worked it out........
We are always crap in November and December, so I think the players get scared by witches at Halloween and the curse is removed till Santa comes and scares them away.

Whilst I have no doubt that there isn't an afterlife, I do think that the botched and unpopular sale of CP and move to Westgate is coming home to roost now. The sheer number of people I know and meet who used to be regulars at CP and have either never set foot in The Globe or only been a handful of times is surreal. Same with advertisers - if you look at the old photos/videos, there are loads of adverts from local small businesses still in existence in and around Morecambe, but they're no longer even advertising at The Globe. I was talking to one the other day who used to advertise/sponsor regularly and attended every home & away match - he hasn't been to The Globe and stopped advertising when they moved, because he was completely against the move against JBC wishes. Even for those in favour, what happened to the promises of all that money, enough for good facilities, new players, etc. - the dream of having plenty of money had turned into a nightmare where we can barely afford a light bulb, due to poor planning/decisions/management related to the move.

Ken, we cannot change what has happened and have to get on with what we have, whether we like it or not.
It may not be everyone's ideal but if we won a few games that could change, as winning games changes views.
As for the Exorcism, why not get a Reverend in to bless the stadium and get the Ghost of JB on our side??
He could change the wind round at half time and even scare the kitchen staff into supplying enough peas behind the goal???

The move will keep coming up, probably for a few more years yet. Mistakes were definitely made and still not been addressed to reduce the impact either (no steak pies in the Omega stand at 7:30pm!?!?)
But I honestly think that if we'd stayed at Christie Park, we'd have been in a real mess by now. The asbestos in the old main stand would have had a crippling effect on its own.
The problem is, we've only ever had odd performances at The Globe that get the fans going, ,then as interest begins to rise, we return to a sustained period of tripe. If you think about some of our best results in our history, they happened at The Globe (beating two Championship sides, home to Newcastle, the 6-0 thrashing of Crawley when they were top of the league). If we could just have a decent season at home where we played attractive football and win a few games, then we'd collectively get past the nostalgia. As it is, there hasn't ever been a 'feel good factor' at The Globe. If the players don't feel like this is 'home', then it's no surprise that the fans don't either.
But right now, if you told Jim that peeing on each corner flag at 3am under a full moon would lift the curse, he'd give it a go!

please dont turn this into an argument about substandard facilities for fans on the terraces, crap football, high prices, lack of customer care, boardroom arrogance, or any other issues that most fans seem to deem the cause of MFC's present predicament this post is a serious one about spiritualism, and exorcism.

Maybe the club could go back to using the original home dressing room and original home dug-out (the one which is nearer the Omega Stand) as the switch obviously didn't fix the home form.

It's weird you know, it was only this Tuesday after the Cambridge game and whilst walking home that I made a casual remark to my nephew in a jokey manner about The Globe being "cursed"!!!
I then went on to explain to him about the stipulation of how Christie Park should have been reverted back into a play area for the children of the town if "the club ever disbanded".

In all seriousness, it wouldn't be a bad marketing idea to have some kind of piss take exorcism that gets advertised, we'd all have a laugh burn an effergy? (no idea of spelling) of a demon, have a sing song, win 4-0 and all is well with the world.

It wouldn't be fair to exorcise Mr Christie after all he's done for the club, he needs to be appeased. MFC should offer up a sacrifice to him to please him, not make him mad! I nominate solentshrimp.

All the more important to get a new sponsor and a new name for the stadium and for the club to take the opportunity of a re-launch to try kill off the Globe's demons!
Hopefully, at the same time, try to celebrate JBC by naming a stand "The JBC Stand" or "The Christie Stand". How about renaming the PMG as presumably it's not bringing in any name/sponsorship revenue?

nobody wants to/can afford to sponsor the stadium, who knows, the ''Christie curse'' may destroy the next business that takes on this poisoned chalise? , so best stick to our plan ,a petition is needed to let the club know our feelings, as for the PMG stand, this could be renamed the ''Globe pavillion & function suite'', for the sake of commercial continuity.
Does anyone know a priest?

It'd be nice to please somebody once in a while.
But I think I'm the wrong sacrifice.
I'm too far away, and too off-topic to have have 'wished' any negative spiritual vibes on The Globe since it opened it's gates.
You need someone who rarely has a good thing to say about Morecambe FC, be it for what's on offer on the pitch, or off the pitch.
Quite a few suspects to choose from.

That could quite easily be confused with The Globe Bar and Grill.....!!!
Rename the GB&G as Charlie's Bar or Clarrie's Bar I still say - two sadly missed and departed club
LEGENDS.

I understand there's a cost that comes with changing the stadium name, presumably starting with stationery and signage. However, I do think it's in the club's interest to at least make an effort to freshen the place up by doing this. There was a thread on here earlier in the season discussing this, and I stand by my opinion that it could be officially called something like New Christie Park on a permanent basis, with a sponsor's name taking precedence on a commercial level, should the club achieve this. Retaining the Globe name, with that company now out of business, is embarrassing.
