In the wake of the terrorist attack on the Stade de France during the recent France versus Germany international match, I would appreciate a few minutes of your time to hear your thoughts on how this will impact on security at football matches in the UK:

i'm concerned, we have let nearly 500 Jihadists re-enter back into the UK after fighting in Iraq and Syria.

Whom are all potential suicide bombers who will look for large numbers of people gathering.

You know, we're not lab-rats for your research. You've posted four times on the forum, the first three was with regard to Women in Sport research.

How about an introduction? Who you are? Where you are studying? What is the course? Are you going to share the results of your research?

I've not completed the survey, if other people want to that's fine. If there is a decent response I may reconsider and do it another time, if I've nothing better to do with my sad life!

While this one is remaining open, a third 'research' request in the future will be viewed as SPAM.

I'm not going to become terrified of my own shadow because there are lunatics who are prepared to kill themselves and others because of their belief in Father Christmas & the Tooth Fairy.

I take it you worry all the time that your family & friends in London and all over the UK, will die in a road traffic accident? 2175 people died on British roads last year. On average, 42 per week. By Thursday of next week, the same number of people will have died on UK roads since the Paris attacks as died during them.

Of course what happened was dreadful (as it was in Beirut the day before) but who should you be worried about? The lunatic terrorist or the tired lorry driver, or the drunk driver?

Poor counter argument, obviously the Government and Intelligence Service and ordinary everyday people don't share your view Keith.

after the Paris attacks, it may soon be compulsory for all FL grounds to have airport style security, including Morecambe FC, and it won't be cheap.

Poor counter argument why? Because it is true? But the media & government don't want us to think differently do they? In the same way as why in the US, when a white supremacist gun-nut opened fire in a black congregation church, he was mentally ill not a "terrorist", or three people killed at a family planning clinic last week by a white gun-nut, he was mentally ill, not a "terrorist". If either of these murderers had been a Muslim male would the media have dealt with it the same?

You are probably right, we probably will have that type of expensive security. But then the lunatics will blow themselves up in Tesco or at a cricket match or a bus station or...

So we can be "terrified" of going outside our own homes, (which is kind of what the lunatics want) or get on with it. And we can put it in context too, the chances of it happening are minuscule, especially when compared to real risk.

Stade de France got away relatively lightly.
Had the casualty toll been significantly higher, which it could easily have been, then who knows?
If it had been at Wembley or any big ground in England, Scotland, or Wales, then who knows the repocussions?

But careful of 'what'? Sadly, it will almost certainly happen at some point. As the IRA said post Brighton when they narrowly missed murdering Margret Thatcher, "we only need to be lucky once, you need to be lucky every time". It might be 'safe' from attack, but you certainly would miss being free.

and on your 2nd point, according to the news we(UK) are helping them in refugee camps first!

and for the record i'm totally AGAINST air strikes in Syria, I can't understand why we still haven't learned lessons from meddling in the middle east / north africa causing civil wars and mass stampedes of human beings.
