That's good news but Thompson certainly didn't disappoint, his kicking in particular was excellent

Very pleased about this, was worried it was his hip as he seamed in pain when getting treatment.

The major injury concern for The Shrimps at the moment is Barry Roche, the goalkeeper having limped off with a hamstring problem on Tuesday night.

The severity of his problem, the stopper having struggled with a bad back recently, is not yet known.

Yes, he only kicked a couple out but liked his more flat, missile like approach.

“I just had to keep talking and do a lot of kicking.”

It seems to be a good tactic for a keeper to employ. Hoofing it right into the air just enables the opposition centre backs (usually huge) to set themselves to repel the first ball straight away. Whereas a quick, flat kick has the potential to catch defences unawares and go anywhere.
