I thought it was 'points Morecambe picked up in the run up to Christmas', but with your clue and the use of 'O/T'... is this year a 'leap second' year?

Having taken a guess, I had to go and Google it.
No, it isn't. There was a leap second in July. I missed it. I must have been asleep!
