"I'm not allowed to express an opinion..."

Okay, for the hard of reading, let me spell it out. I'll type slowly so you can keep up...

"I'm not allowed to express an opinion..."

If you are not allowed to express an opinion, then, by definition, that opinion will have been censored or removed. If that happens, then you are not allowed to express an opinion. Despite often getting grief from the club over the years, I've never removed people's opinions about Morecambe Football Club, even when negative & I disagree with them.

Therefore, even opinions that I disagree with, are left up for other people to read. QED you ARE allowed to express your opinion, whether you were at a game or not.

However...
if, having expressed your opinion,
other people, in their opinion,
think your opinion is bollocks,
they are entitled to express that opinion.

If you express an opinion and you state that it is based upon being at the game that you are commenting upon, it gives you a slightly better position than someone who was not at the game. This 'rule' is even more important if you post an opinion without making it clear what you are basing your opinion upon. If you express an opinion and say 'Derek Quinn said on Radio Lancashire that it was shambolic'. And we then find out that Derek actually said 'it was like watching Brazil, but the catering was shambolic', then don't be surprised if your 'opinion' is ridiculed!

Next, the 'clique'... Well, actually, most of the 'clique' don't post on here because they got so fed up with the constant negativity. In actual fact, the grief I got from people who actually know me as a 'friend', for allowing the negative posters and allowing Peter back on here to keep posting his jaundiced politics would surprise many of you. Also, we have in the past 'censored' each other, especially when naughty words have been used. Some people have commented that Posh's recent 'f... off' comment wasn't censored because he was in "the clique". But NO-ONE CLICKED ON THE 'REPORT' POST button! If they had, it would have been dealt with. Simple concept.

Hope that makes things a little clearer?

Oh yes, and I'm a sarcastic sod. If you don't like that, I'll give you your money back... (that's sarcasm)

That of course is your opinion. I personally think you shouldn't have an opinion as you don't attend that many games.....

yeah its only a small minority, where only talking 1000 fans, half our support what are being negative and staying away. :?

and some seem to be doing more counter arguing on that Morecambe FC fans page with negative people after games than they ever did on SVs. :?

like other fans forums, they have a sub forum for O/T, if people want to argue about politics.

Blackpool shrimp, you're entitled to your opinion, but your recent belligerence and negativity is incredibly boring and irritating to others.

Rather than whining about being told to get lost, which was quite frankly deserved, perhaps you should consider why someone thought such a response was appropriate.

Lets get it straight, he was not told to "get lost" and I do not think anyone deserves to be told to F off on this forum. I reckon Blackpool Shrimp is well within his rights to ask for an apology.

As for the casual swearing, we pride ourselves on being a family club but we are quite happy for our younger fans to be reading foul language on this forum.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion, and people are equally entitled to tell others that their constant baseless negative bollocks appearing week after week during a match which they can't find the inclination to attend from Lancaster whilst simultaneously glued to an internet messageboard and listening to 5min bulletins on radio Blackburn for a bloody update, that they're wrong. Heck, people even tell me I'm wrong, and I often am, but at least when they do we can have a two way meaningful discussion about why I'm right because we have both have meaningful insight into what it is we are talking about.

In BS case it's frustrating because he obviously cares, but not enough to go to games. Often the way he posts on here comes across as belittling to the people that do bother to go to games. I will gladly donate £1 to the 'get Blackpool Shrimp to a game' fund. Then at least he can come on here afterwards with a credible opinion for a change. Until then stick to the prediction comp or trawling through other fans messageboards to see who other fans think we might be signing. Leave the discussions about specifics within a game and different players to those who have actually watched the game, or can at least relate can relate what others are saying to a game they did attend in the recent past.

It's not down to the money ... If I could get to games I would like I did in the past
But other things in my life mean I can't

4 times the phrase has been used in this thread alone. 3 from Blackpool Shrimp and 1 from Keith quoting BS. (Thought we shouldn't quote swearing ;) )

Who is reporting these? 8-)

Feel free to try and get a a rise from me all you like, but I barely post on here these days.

If my couple of posts per month irritate you, I'm so very very sorry.

Get lost being a euphemism for what was said.

What is it with football fans being so quick to get offended and demand an apology. We'll be talking about a lack of respect next. START AN ONLINE PETITION!

What minute walk out are we having in the next match in solidarity with our wronged messageboard comrade?

There are two separate issues on this thread. The first is Keith's original point that you're entitled to an opinion, just don't be surprised if it's challenged (and this is not aimed at anyone in particular, it applies to us all). Opinions are like posterior orifices, everybody has one.

Secondly, the issue of the use of the 'f' word. Initially I found Posh's post amusing (which was not quite his intention, I'm sure), but it would have been equally effective using asterisks, IMHO. Then to repeat it twice seeking to justify outrage I think was unnecessary. As for the 'did you report it?' argument, sorry Keith, but you'd quite clearly seen BS use it, and reposted it in a quote, knowing it was unacceptable. If a mod sees language like that, surely they don't need to wait for someone else to report it, they can deal with it themselves, or is that against the rules?

I was refering to the original comment that caused offence (apparently) but not enough offence to report it? The odd swear word slips through, so it isn't unique.
