Updated information regarding the Fans Forum on Thursday 25th February.
Following the announcement made on Friday 5th February the Club has received quite a few questions regarding the FANS FORUM on Thursday 25th February.
We hope the following information will answer those questions already posed as well as give a little more information about the format of the evening.
Although the Board of Directors and Football Management hopes as many fans as possible will be able to attend in person on the night they also understand not everyone, for many reasons, will be able to make it on Thursday 25th Feb. They therefore invite fans to email their questions FAO Derek Quinn to
office@morecambefc.com for Derek to collate and pose to the panel on the evening. Derek has very kindly agreed to act as MC on the evening so if you have any questions please send them in before 5pm on Tuesday 23rd Feb.
People will be able to arrive at the Club from 6.30pm on the evening making their way up to the Wright & Lord Suite on the 1st Floor for a prompt 7pm start. Tea & Coffee will be provided by the Football Club on arrival. Anyone wishing to purchase an alcoholic or soft beverage will be able to do so although the Bar will be closed whilst questions are being asked and answered.
It is hoped that all of the current Directors will be in attendance alongside Jim Bentley and Ken McKenna. We are unable to stream or run a live broadcast of the evening.

Well, I am quite sure Derek will pick what HE, considers are the pertinent questions, but sadly, the format will give rise to these questions, A. have the panel had them beforehand so they can prepare their answers, and B. will the board have told Derek not to ask some of the questions as they won't be answered.

I suppose if people attend the meeting and their question is not read then they should have the right to stand up and ask it at the end of the meeting.

Good! This isn't
Question Time, it's an opportunity to find out information and what the Board are thinking, not to trip them up or ask questions that they aren't in a position to answer. Let them prepare and hopefully give more depth to the answers.

As previous forums have yielded satisfactory answers, followed by no action, the panel can say whatever they like really, rendering the whole thing a bit pointless, Derek could actually just email his questions to whoever they are aimed at, then post the answers on here.

"We are unable to stream or run a live broadcast of the evening".
That's a shame, pity they can't use the Morecambe Player to broadcast. I know not everyone has it but many of the people who can't get to the evening would.

The idea for me is to let anyone who attends the forum ask whatever they wish first but take a stock of questions from those that can't be there in case there are any themes that have not been covered.
I have definitely not been asked to vet any questions or let people see them beforehand so hopefully everything will be covered.

I personally don't have a problem with the board seeing questions in advance, if it means they can give some proper thought to their responses, rather than a 'sorry, we'll have to look into that and get back to you' answer.

Yeah, like ''We listened to the fans when we built the home end, and we clearly heard them saying, we like to dine and drink, Al Fresco''
