A dreadful thought...???

In a few weeks we will be playing Accrington Stinker and it is quite possible that if results between now and then go their way that they could secure a play off place or even a guaranteed promotion spot to League One if they manage to beat us on their midden heap.

Other than relegation for our lot, I can't think of anything more dreadful that would show the divide between both clubs.

If Jim picks the right team and sends them out to play an expansive attacking game we could easily give them a hiding.

Sadly I think he will try and keep it at nil nil and they will prevail yet again :( :( :(

I think it was only 3 seasons ago that we went there at a similar stage of the season with the chance to put them in real trouble as they were just above the relegation zone. Jim and the players will be getting abuse hurled at them if we lose this one without putting up a fight.

Good luck to Accy if they get promotion automatically or via the play-offs. Just shows what can be done with the right attitude! Also remember they used to be a league team until their club resigned and disappeared for a few years!! When did they drop the 1968 to become the club that never died?

Accrington Stanley FC 1891-1966
Accrington Stanley FC 1968-

The club that never died... But did twice

I have nothing but admiration for Coley and his Accrington side. It just shows what a bit of positivity and forward thinking can do for you. Instead of whinging about the cards they have been dealt, they have a seige mentality and are ready to take on all clubs. Coleman might not be the most popular bloke in footy but he is one hell of a manager.

Not for the first time, Accrington have shown us how it is done and left us miles behind.

Good article about Coley, although it did him no good in the end.
