Thank you, thank you, thank you. My son had his birthday party at the Globe for the Barnet game and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left I have nothing but praise for all the staff and players we came into contact with. Despite recent results, and our moans and groans, when you get behind the scenes you begin to realise just what a friendly, community based club we are. It really is time the community/local council starts to support what we have at MFC, support it now or risk losing it for ever.

Similar story but with a different background!:-
A friend of ours who had a holiday villa out here in Cyprus passed away last month at home in Morecambe. His name was Barry Elkin and he had at one time played for Morecambe Reserves. His family decided to organise a meal at The Globe to celebrate his life. Unknown to them this was on the same afternoon that the Reserves had a match. Just before kick-off there was an announcement and a request for a minutes silence (duly observed). His family had no idea that was going to happen. Not difficult to imagine how much that meant to them though is it? So to repeat the title of this thread THANK YOU MFC.

I went to school with Barry but lost touch long ago. Sorry to hear he's died.
