The Globe Bar and Grill

It sounds to me as though everybody wants a more fans oriented bar and not what is served at the moment. In order to give the fans what they want why not post on Svs exactly what needs to be done to ensure it delivers.

If changes are made that don't satisfy fans requirements then an opportunity to change for the good has been missed.

As you know I'm one of the SADARSE's so that we can work to achieve what fans want by all means send me a PM or post on this subject so that we can discuss with the Directors and get some changes for the better made.

It's in our hands to change things, don't let this opportunity pass by..... :?: :?: :!: :!: :?:

Alternatively why not get involved...,. :D :D :D

That silly name has to be changed for a start.

"Peter's Bar" as a lasting epitaph to our benefactor.

A close season makeover , with lots of tasteful pictures etc memorabilia framed items and a competition with a prize for the winning name , picked by a good old fashioned ballot, maybe a free pair of hospitality tickets for a match per season for life?

A pool table so that FCOM etc. could consider moving their team(s) to the club, no point competing for trade with the flyer, something different, a ''local'' for fans etc.

The World Cup Bar aka JB's Bar at Christie Park used to take serious money every night of the week and that was when the football gates were around 250/300.

They had a darts team playing in the Super League. They also had a pool table in the pool league.

There was lots of memorabilia , scarves from other clubs , framed shirts , photos all round the place , it felt like a football club bar.

The corner of the room where you walk in at the left hand side of the bar is very dark and narrow imo
That square of wall (behind the pic of PMG and SMc) should be taken away, make the room larger and have a clear window to make the place look open. Get some more pictures in there and a row of shirts/scarves. - then above have a roof terrace with a cover for smokers (I am not a smoker).
There is loads of room/wasted space at the front of the building which is not being used to our advantage at all.
Big screen in both areas please as well. Our screens, even in a short space of time, are now too small for the modern couch potato.
This is a football ground, lets get the thing woken up and cater for the fans and people interested in sport.
The Euros is a great time to cash in and get some new faces that don't wear suits, but no doubt we will be left behind.

I like all these ideas, but unless there is a change of people in charge nothing will happen. All the above have been suggested before on numerous occasions, But always get knocked back.

Reasons given are usually

1) Other things take place in the bar.
( if you booked something at a football club, wouldn't you expect football memorabilia inside?)

2) Scarves/flags/Shirts etc now have to be fire retardant to have up permanently.

I hope it can be sorted though.

I'm aware that such as Plymouth had to remove their loosely hanging garments in their marquee, but how many framed shirts are hanging on walls in public places?

Right ok. In that case no problem
BUT
There is always someone by a desk always trying to put you down while you are trying to do your daily business.
They say no all the time.
They f*ck you off
They charge you for everything , but yes, don't give up, there is often a way around these things..
Never give up, it is a defeatist attitude..

So many of them have offshore accounts
