Talking of codheads, what a game they have against Blackpool coming up. Proper 6 pointer!!
Jim must go at end of the season. If this season was 2 years ago (where we came very very close to going down), we would be relegated. We can only thank there are 4 or 5 teams worse than us

come the end of the season there will (hopefully) be at least 2 teams worse than us But both the 2 teams going to be relegated have beaten us at least once, so that will make us one of the worst teams left in the football league

2011/12 - 15th 56pts +6gd
2012/13 - 16th 58pts -6gd
2013/14 - 18th 54pts -12gd
2014/15 - 11th 63pts +1gd
2015/16 - 19th 43pts -12gd (5 games to go)
Jim's five seasons show only one top half finish which was last season. This season is due to be his worst, finishing lowest, conceding more, less points, worse goal difference. We have already conceded more than in any of our League 2 seasons and we still have 5 games left.
The stats don't lie, we have only been mediocre at best under Jim. Last season's 11th placed finish looks impressive on paper but I recall being just as disgruntled at the end of last season as I am now.
Given Jim's love for the club I wonder if he will consider resigning at the end of the season, putting the clubs needs before his own. The pressure on him will only continue to increase.

Are you privy to the contents and clauses of said contract?. Don't give me the its my ball rubbish. I pay my money and will air my views. Given the tone of the majority of tonights posts, it is a perfectly valid post.

The 'it's my ball' comment, in a different thread, was quite clearly & directly aimed at John, who's done nothing but moan for ages now but doesn't attend games and doesn't support the club in any way. There were already plenty of negative posts on the go, many of which John had contributed too, that were not stopped.
Mine was a perfectly valid response to you. Someone with a contract cannot simply be sacked, unless there are good employment based reasons to do so. Therefore, Jim & (presuming you want him gone too) Ken, would have to have their contracts paid up. Two years salary for Jim & Ken from a club that is skint. Where does that money come from?
Jim may at some point decide enough is enough. Or there may, at some point be a 'left by mutual consent'. But simply sacking them will cost money that we don't have.

you are being allowed to air your views berlinwaller so whats your problem, there are now around 7 different posts all saying the same thing, if it were my board I would lock sll but one of them.

There have been a lot of managers who have performed better than Jim has at their respective clubs and have lost their job. Nobody but Jim and the board know the contents of his contract. Do you agree that Jim keeping his job purely because the board can not afford to sack him is a sad situation for a club legend to be in?
Blackpool Shrimp is thriving on the views of others although the term "lynch mob" is a slight over reaction by another member on here. I am not friends with any Directors and I have never been cosy with players or Management. I am an "average supporter" and I think if Jim still has a job this morning, he is a very very lucky man.

if there is no change in management and owner for next season, then I fear the club I have supported for 60 years will be relegated for the first time in our history !

The thing I really can't understand is why things have gone so wrong on the pitch. On paper, we've the strongest squad we've had for a while. It's only a couple of seasons ago that youngsters like Mwaslie, Simpson, etc were regular players and juniors were often on the bench. This season there've been very few inexperienced/young players called upon. Even quality youngsters like Doyle, McGowan, Bailey have struggled to get on the pitch.
Jim has almost consistently been able to put on 11 quality/experienced players and also filled the bench with decent players too. There've been relatively few times when he's struggled and had to put youngsters on the bench (JPT against Walsall, and a few weeks ago Hedley hit the bench a couple of times). Yes, I know. the loss of Murphy has been a real blow, but he's the only real long term casualty, and we always seem to lose one every year (last year Baz, then Redshaw before that, etc).
He's often used the excuse of key players being injured or suspended, but most of the time, he's had the "best" players available. For many matches now, he's not had suspension or injury problems, he's been able to play a strong starting 11 and put on a decent bench, but they've still underperformed. He's used excuses of bad weather, wind, etc., but recently there've been no weather problems.
For me, the problem is that Jim has been unable to get the players to play together properly and has been unable to decide upon his strongest 11 and best formation. That's a real worry - it's his job to do that, and even with a huge playing budget, if he can't work out the best formation and can't get the players working together, then he's setting up the team for a fall. Even if he could afford world leading players, if he can't get them to work together and can't decide on the best formation, it's money down the pan!

Bentley to stay! Entertaining season from my seat. A few more points would be nice but another season of league football for Morecambe = another mission accomplished.
By the way I have no idea who you clowns think could do a better job than Jimbo. If he were to go I'm nominating CC for the managers job. He always has the answers. Westgate you can be no2.

Southport actually have Andy Bishop in charge, in a player/manager role, until the end of the season!

Well there's certainly been plenty of goals unfortunately most of them have ended up in the back of our net now if that's your idea of entertainment fair enough but if we continue the same way next season then we will be playing in the conference the following one. This idea that nobody could do a better job than Jim is just idiotic, of course there will be a manager who can do better likewise they could do worse but that's the gamble, maybe Jim can turn it round next season but that in my opinion is a bigger gamble.
