Whoever is the manager next season, be it Jim or someone else (and I'm in the 'new' camp assuming that JB will not change style) he has to play entertaining football and instil in the squad that only goals win games and the more the better. No more of this boring and sterile negative defensive garbage we have at the moment.
If they score 2 we score 3...etc etc etc.

I'm afraid Jim will not change, does not learn from mistakes, we were saying exactly the same things at the end of last season, and season before that after a great start playing attacking football. then the needless tinkering starts and players get pissed off and give up trying.

...and remind me how many goals have we let in. As long as we score more in a match than the opposition then we'd be in a play off place. It would also increase home gates playing attacking winning football or is that codswollop....

what about you, what do you think?
you do have a tendency to start threads like this, like lighting a fuse and running off.

As a manager you play with the cards you are given , better defenders that make fewer mistakes cost money, as do better strikers, the manager does not play himself so he doesn't make the mistakes or score the goals, whatwver you think of his tactics , if he had 4 much better defenders we would probably be in the top 6, as for scoring, a remarkable tally given our position and lack of money.

Can't argue about the need for defenders which I said at the beginning of this season where simply not good enough. However if we'd gone for scoring more goals than the opposition we'd have been in the play offs. Not much point in scoring a lot of goals in a season if you've got a defence that concedes more.

If we had have followed this legendary bit of tactical information we'd have won the league without losing a game.
If you're reading Jim, tomorrow night, can we please focus on scoring one more than Cambridge, thus ensuring we win. Perhaps in the teamtalk we can play the seminal 1998 hit by "Fat Les" (Actually Keith Allen)
Vindaloo, where they point this out through the medium of song.

Its alright saying play attacking football all the time. There are two teams on the pitch, often with better players than us and often they have the ball. Teams don't just let us attack them. When we have the ball we do try to attack.

Exactly Trevor, and individual errors, leading to goals being conceded ,are down to individuals on the pitch. not in the dugout!

Completely agree. If we'd have scored 10 fewer goals and conceded 25 fewer, we'd be somewhere around 3-7th.
Mainly individual errors as well. Parrish has been a shell of the player he was - assuming fatherhood has impacted maybe? Who knows.
