25 year old striker being linked with us (along with Motherwell & Carlisle) on the Barrow forum. Expected to turn down a deal to make him Barrows highest ever player as he wants to join a League club.
http://www.barrowafc.net/viewtopic.php? ... 90#p326520Big brute of a man that has 21 goals for them this season.

It's one thing scoring at National League level but doesn't mean to say he could do it at FL level....
Not fussed either way about the rumours of him crossing the Bay to be honest.

Podge has scored more in that league admittedly with a decent club.

The fact he scores goals will go down well with the people that demand entertainment as only 100 plus goals next season will do.

One minute you bang on about how we should search the lower leagues for untapped talent, the next you dismiss lower league talent because ''they might not be good enough'' are you 2 people Neil?
Another thing , Jim, Ken and Mark Dixon must be chuffed that all your animosity seems to be concentrated on Dugdale at the moment

sounds what the Doctor ordered.
where not exactly a footballing side what can string more than a dozen passes toghter, so playing a target man and the long ball game, could work for us.
I just hope we start bringing players in this summer who are 6ft + so we can be more physical and dangerous at set pieces.

Me too George, I reckon we need around 4 or 5 big F***ers , in defence and midfield , a nippy winger and a big carthorse of a centre forward like Harford or Quinn, from the good old days , widen the pitch so our ''fancy Dan '' of a winger can throw in some quality balls, and show everyone that we are the boss!

Who is the "fancy Dan" of a winger?

Barky? Although id like him playing off a target man in a 4 4 1 1

I don't get the fancy Dan reference.
Agree should be playing off a target man though. His pace would make it difficult for defeders to pick him up.

I meant a tricky winger to whip in crosses to our 2 big donkeys up front, who between them might accidently bundle it in a dozen times each over the season.

Vokes would be good, as he's not up to Premier League!!
