This is banding about on FB
"EU referendum voting
It was only on reading a second time time the penny dropped that although we are registered to vote already we need to register specifically for this referendum.
Wonder how many people will skip this page thinking that they are registered already so everything is ok?"

Surely if you are already registered there is no need to register for the referendum :?: :?

Just checked this out. The answer is no, you don't need to re-register. I'll try to post the link:

http://www.aboutmyvote.co.uk/upcoming-e ... referendum

See if that works. Just remember the correct answer is 'Remain'. ;)

think it's pretty even going by TV debates and people you speak to socially or at work.

I do think if there's was to be another terrorist attack in Europe, and say if that was the UK, then that will sway voters and tip the scales with the majority of people then wanting to leave the EU.

I am actually very keen that we stop in the EU, and lucky that my family are indifferent to the result , so I am taking my 3 sons plus my stepson , my wife ,her sister, her sisters partner plus their two elder children and both my in laws, to vote in 3 vehicles, getting me a total of 12 stay in votes , I think thats a good effort!

Actually the correct answer is....... :?: :?: :?: :?:

In other words I don't think anybody really has a clue the right thing to do.

The bullshit spouted in that publication is just as bad as the mindless rhetoric of Boris and Co, more than one of which are seeking higher political office in the hope that if it's a No vote that Cameron will be forced out of office the following day and then the real fun and games will begin in ernest.

How would the UK be safer from terrorism if it left the European Union?

For me the whole EU vote is a smokescreen to take people's attention away from the vicious cuts and policies currently being pushed through Parliament.

I am very much a remain guy, but I feel sorry for the leave campaign as it seems the odds are stacked against them. Cameron and Co using public funds to send out propaganda to people's letter boxes was shocking.

I would probably lose my job if we left the EU and I imagine a large number of us on here would also too.

For those who want to leave, what are their reasons? Is European immigration such a big problem in Morecambe?

better control with borders. hence no free movement.

Same for me.

They say you should vote on how it effects you, well am quite well off prospect wise the EU works very well for me indeed.

however I'm not being selfish, I feel leaving will save Great Britain as we know it, I'm with Borris Johnson, I would have liked to have reformed the EU, but now have to do the right thing and leave.

They say that if we leave the sun will almost certainly stop shining and the oceans will dry up. It will be the end of civilisation as we know it.

So are the problems with terrorism, the people legally entering from Europe or illegally?

If legally, are you saying you'd stop people coming altogether (no tourists/businessmen/migrant workers) or would it be the same, except a bit longer at passport control?
If illegally entering, how would things change?

Terrorists like the Belgium murderers would simply come anyway.
Illegal immigrants are illegal and would remain so.

it's largely legally, and the EU telling us we have to Obay the EU Charter Of human rights.

We have the Brexit campaign waiting to introduce a British bill of rights, a better alternative .

Either way the uk political class , will shaft us and use the result to pursue their own ends, hiding to nothing I'm afraid , i don't know who I fear most , them or us , but trust neither, and as such undecided and likely to ignore

So how does anything change? The 'home grown' European terrorists will still be able to move around. The only change is that they will need to show a passport. Which they will.

How will a British Bill of Rights be better than the European one? Which European Rights don't you agree with?

In my opinion there are two major issues.

The potential for a loss of jobs is I think, real. The reasons, including punitive tariffs and the fact that it could take a decade to re-negotiate trade agreements is well documented.

The other, doesn't appear to have been discussed much. We do get a lot of money back from the EU. Much of this is in the form of agricultural subsidies. But a significant amount is also invested in to areas that are classed as 'deprived'. Huge swathes of the UK, such as South Wales, receives a massive amount of investment from the EU. I *think* (although not entirely sure) that much of the regeneration of the West End of Morecambe is actually EU money?

In theory, leaving the EU could mean that the UK government would carry on providing that same investment, only they'd do it more efficiently, with less levels of bureaucracy. But in reality, do you think they would? Or would it simply be even more tax cuts for the super rich?

If you think the Tories will redirect the money in to the poorest areas of the UK, or the NHS etc then exit will be a good idea. It will cut the red tape, waste & balance of payments.

However, if you judge them by their previous actions, then they will continue to cut & privatise the NHS, ignore the disadvantaged areas (many of which they created in the first place) while cutting taxes for the richest, and you want to protect jobs, then remaining in the EU is the best way forward.

Exactly. Where were the 7/7 bombers from? Lee Rigby's murderers?

Can't help thinking that a lot of people's views on in/out EU are formed to whether they have a fear/dislike/mistrust of foreigners/those a bit different or not.

Reducing all of our human rights is hardly a positive thing either.

yes they still will be able to move, but we will have better powers to deal with them, like when you want to travel to USA, we can implement a ESTA tourist type visa system.

How will a British Bill of Rights be better than the European one? Which European Rights don't you agree with?

The British bill of right will be better because it will give us the power to make our own decisions. what's a no brainer?

Don't know much about it. Could you summerise? I am just very cynical to any patriotic new laws that might potentially reduce people's rights and freedoms.

The "vicious cuts" are necessary and are the only way to eliminate a structural deficit which is what was racked up between 2004 and 2008 before the sub-prime bank problems. If you were up to the limit on your credit card do you just carry on spending like a man with no arms or start looking at what payments are made on your credit card and try and cut out making some of the ones that you deem un-necessary ("vicious cuts !)

With respect to Europe as the UK imports more from EU countries than we export to them do you really think they would either stop trading with us or impose tariffs ?
