I'm really in two minds. Sometimes I think we need a clearout, but what's the point unless we can bring in better players? Jim & Ken have proved they can bring people in, but they need to work out what goes wrong virtually every season after the bright starts - at least previously the mid-season dip in form has been rectified but this season, they just couldn't pull it back. They also need to look at their formations and tactics. I'm not at all sure that anyone else at our level would be better than Parrish and Beeley so it's a matter of management, team selection, formations, etc., rather than a constantly revolving door of people in/people out.
My opinion on this is quite simple. Jim gets his team sorted at the end of the season by getting the loanees and signing them up now, the old bird in the hand better than 2 in the bush argument. A full pre season and we hit the ground running, when the others are still sleeping as their budgets can get the more mercenary players in.
We then have a great start, it tapers off for 3 reasons.
A) the bigger clubs scout us and know our strengths and weaknesses, couldn't be more prevalent this year. We played rapid counter attacks to wingers - so they sat back deeper and that stopped all the bombing attacks.
B) small squad - injuries, lethargy, tiredness.
C) The other teams that get the better players in gel later in the season and then are simply much better than us.
We've not set it up this year like we have previously, financially behind the scenes we are in disarray.
We have relegation written all over us, whether its Jim, Fergie, Alf Ramsay or Pep Guardiola managing them.
