Not sure why the twitter author has been blanked out. If you type in a sentance on twitter it comes up.
Looking at previous tweets, @pjlaspinall has been wrong more than right but it seems a few people on here have similar news.

Does anyone know whether this is a complete takeover or a joint deal with PMG? Company or Individual?

I don't think anyone outside the loop knows , but my guess is that PMG will still be at the club in some capacity post takeover.

If there is a takeover, I want it to be somebody with their own ideas of how to progress the club from £830k loss making position primarily focussed on corporate hospitality and function suites, to a more competitive outfit on the field that brings back the paying public to watch the team. We owe a lot to PMG for getting up into the FL, but its now time for a complete change and I for one hope that he doesn't stick around in the long-term once any proposed deal goes through.

Well we certainly need some new ideas to avoid making Losses of the magnitude of the last few years.
Whoever takes charge has to be aware that our core activity is a professional football team. If that is playing well and getting results then everything else has a chance of doing well also.

Been trying to get some info from my source this morning but not giving too much away on the takeover front besides talks are going well and he's not really involved in this side of things. I seen a few things on here an Twitter last night and thought we had new owners but it looks as though we'll have to wait a few more days at least before anything happens !

Wholeheartedly agree. PMG deserves respect and congratulations for getting us in the League, but in my opinion, he's run out of ideas and run out of steam. It's time for a complete change, including some others of the Board. We've lost a few long-term major Board members over the past few years and they've been sorely missed. We need a new owner and a few new Board members (appointed by the new owner) to work with the existing board and drive the club forward.
It's very worrying that just 3 years ago, the Board were saying they had a 3 year plan to make the club break even, yet 3 years later, it's just made it's biggest loss. So what was their plan? Did anyone notice anything different happening over the last 3 years?

The problem were losing so much is pretty clear. Attendances are dropping when they thought they'd be rising and we've had no cup runs besides the JPT what doesn't give great financial rewards. If we could get an extra 400 heads in per game and got drawn against a Premiership side away in the league then we'd probably brake even but there's no chance of that happening when we can't get past the worst side in our league in the first round of the cup !

Personally, I fear that the new owners will be a business partner of PMGs and we'll get lumbered with somebody who wants to proceed with the projects PMG thinks will be good idea but doesn't want to/can't finance himself e.g. a hotel in the middle of Westgate - which to me sounds like a terrible idea. If it was such a lucrative plan, why hasn't an existing hotel operator already done it or even got involved with the club when land was available at the front of the stadium to progress this idea? I understand Travelodge were in talks with the club a couple of seasons ago, but ultimately opted to build a hotel in the centre of the town. Why is the club still trying to progress their own plans without an individual/group that has specialist expertise in operating a business of this type either on the board or as a partner? It'll be like the Gym and the Globe Bar & Grill - which have been massive failures for the same reasons.

I seem to recall that the idea for a new hotel was to capitalize on the distinct lack of suitable, affordable and modern overnight accommodation for those contract workers who will be involved in the building of Heysham 3 and that part of the proposed development would include a provision to accommodate players during the week from further afield than say Merseyside therefore opening the Midlands catchment area in the search for extra quality for our team.
I totally agree that the Gym and Globe Bar have been an abject failure but that is down as much to the lack of promotion than anything else which (I assume) falls within the remit of certain individuals within the club.
One thing that I'm sure will raise extra finance is the proposed office block development along the Berlin Wall which I understand has already got its first tenant once the building is up and running.
For me, PMcG has been responsible for realising the dream of FL Football to many of older supporters such as myself. I can well remember the annual lottery of the FL Vote for non league clubs to gain entry to the League and the farce that it was when non leaguers where constantly cast aside in favour of those clubs who finished last season after season.

So in true silly season tradition we are expecting an imminent cash injection from one of PMG's international mates. Even more wild speculation suggests PMG is staying on as a minority shareholder/advisor to Mr Wonga, who probably couldn't find Morecambe on the map. Is this a good thing? Only time will tell.
Like others have said, I'd prefer a completely fresh start with any potential takeover, shaking things up top to bottom both on and off the field. However if those that take over don't have any real knowledge of the club or even English football, having PMG around might avoid any major disasters.
Whoever takes over I hope they dedicate as much time and effort into bringing back the fans and not just the additional revenue ideas such as a hotel and office blocks. My fear though is this won't be the case, but happy to be proven totally wrong!

Heysham 3 won't happen anytime soon, so that's one daft reason for building a hotel. If (and that's a big if) it does happen, it wouldn't be started for at least the next 15-20 years. Heysham 3 development is not a priority for EDF Energy. Only Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, and possibly Bradwell.
Going back to the takeover stuff, i'm quite nervous about what the future may hold. We all dream of a rich owner coming in and throwing bags of cash at the club but I don't think this will ever happen to us
