From the OWS:
http://www.morecambefc.com/news/article ... 57269.aspxSurely an opportunity for the management to give us an update on possible new additions to the squad...
but no mention whatsoever of players.
Jim and Co have a duty to the fans to keep us informed of developments otherwise the gloom and concern freely voiced on SVs will continue. We need some good news to rebuild confidence but it appears that that is very much in short supply.

Why would we give other clubs the information they need to potentially poach new signings?
The official website deals in facts - not who we may or may not sign.
We all want to know what's going on, but the entitlement some people on here seem to think they have to stuff that goes on behind closed doors at the club is extraordinary.

As Morecambe Geek has said, the club deal in facts, they would be bonkers to release details on any potential deals for new signings or takeovers to fans.
For example, look at how ridiculous Crewe looked after more or less naming Jamie Devitt as a transfer target and saying he had been in talks with them.
Look at how ridiculous PMG now looks after saying they hoped to have the takeover completed by early June.
They are best just keeping quiet until they have any facts to report.

just been down the globe and saw 2 oriental lads outside, so I asked them if they were from ''Shanghai Clever'', one if them said, ''no we work at Neighbours takeaway,do you want to buy any pirate dvd's''

PS. nothing negative there from Jim, realistic , he has nothing new to tell us, what do you want him to do, lie?

You mean you're bored and need something to bitch about Neil!
Shrimpy is correct.

Agree entirely with Shrimpy.
We'd not report on players we've (potentially) got in on trial, therefore alerting other clubs to their availability.
Imagine the uproar if we DID report we've got so-and-so in on trial and then said player raised the interest of a better placed club.

Even a brief mention that the club have taken some players on trial but no names mentioned would have been good...but it appears that I look at things differently....again.
No problem.

Here you go CC:
http://www.thevisitor.co.uk/sport/morec ... -1-7984950In summary, we'll be having trialists in over pre season and Jim says there will be "one or two signings this week"

I would imagine that the signings we have lined up are with players whose contracts expire with their current / old clubs on the 1st of July, hence why they've said they should be announced by the end of this week.
I can't remember all the ins and outs of it now but isn't it the case that if we signed players before the 1st of July we would have to pay their wages for the past month whereas if we wait until 1st of July then their previous employers pay it?

Hence the reason most deals are done mid july, something debated on here countless times and CC knows full well,

Not totally true. In previous seasons the majority of signings have been announced during June AFTER Jim has done his close season work early. Granted last season we signed Miller later.
But hey.....not worth getting into a strop about it.....

So, I'm expecting a bigger, more powerful squad this time. We've got some superb quality, albeit slightly built players. Bring on the giants!

like to sign more 6ft+ players so we can get hard and play more physical with teams.
also like Wales and their impressive attacking 5-3-2 formation, worth trying in pre-season.
Jim needs to sort out a preferred formation, and his best 11 before the season starts and stick with it, because this season will be a relegation battle from the off.

Interesting that Jim says he expects to sign 2 players later this week and still has lots of business to do in "all areas".
To me that doesn't sound like a club with a budget cut in half as one of our correspondents suggested.
