Won't be with us next season as he'll be covering prestons games for the Lancashire guardian. Hope his replacement sees better performances than he did last season !

What info? He updates twitter at home games when we are all there watching.

The Visitor has gone to ratshit nowadays and the tweets they put out are just nonsense and irrelevant.

My post I put on the Former Shrimps thread the other day about Kelleher and Ryan they tweeted out literally word for word!!!!!

Nail on head, the ones that are there won't "post" updates because they are fed up of getting shot down!

Updating twitter about what is going on during a home game is pointless. Most of us are already there watching it for ourselves. Perhaps there is some merit in doing this for away games, but he rarely went south of Accrington so this service didn't exist. Doesn't Quinny even do the match report in the following weeks paper? So again, what is the point of Adam Lord being at games in a media capacity?

Being constructive, I liked the Shrimps 24/7 pullout that he did which got me buying the paper again - but thats now stopped also.

I remember he once tweeted something about not being at a home game because he was on holiday. He wasn't away, just not at 'work' meaning he didn't have to be at 'work' watching Morecambe. I know watching the Shrimps can be a chore at times, but that really pissed me off. I'd rather have comitted fans reporting on our fortunes rather than people who do it because they have to and given the option would rather do something else than attend Morecambe games for free.

People who are watching the games for nothing have a duty to provide updates regardless of being 'shot down', otherwise what is the point in them being their in a media capacity other than a free lunch?

regarding match reporting

I think the best feedback on away games is on here SVs, we have a fair few posters who will say it as it is.

shrimpsplayer and credit to Freeze try's to keep things as positive as possible, and if he says where poo, then we really are dog poo.

I don't really listen to media reporting, only if Glen aka Shrimper as something to say, knows his onions.

Don't twitter updates cater for those unabe to attend home games due to illness or living out of the area , even overseas... :?: :?: :?:

If you are unable to attend games for whatever reason, Morecambe Player is just the ticket for you... and you still get to support the club financially.

If twitter updates are so important, why do we only get them for home games? Personally I think the club should be doing their own official match updates using twitter, we must be one of the few clubs that dont.... even Lancaster City are doing thie now!

First you say that twitters are pointless now you are advocating that the club should do them (which by the way I totally agree).

Sounds to me as though this is a reaction against Adam Lord... :?: :?: :?:

The Club over the years has very much relied on people/fans doing all sorts of stuff for nothing.. A lot of this has stopped since, generally, the Corporate Globe, has moved on as has the technology.
The mass of volunteers from yesteryear, who did it for love, have flown the nest and now it is all about finance, or lack of.

For me, twitter updates are pointless because I go to most of our games and if I don't its because I'm generally doing something that means I won't be sat around reading twitter.

But if it is that important that Adam Lord or anybody gets in for nowt, why isn't it done for away games (when you'd imagine more people would benefit from such a service) and why isn't it being done by an official club account with a far more captive and far reaching audience?

Agree with RRW about the need for increased coverage at away games BUT still feel that there is an audience for coverage of home games be it by twitter or any other form of communication.

As he suggests Player is an excellent alternative and contributes to the clubs finances.

Can't believe people are moaning about the person who does this job getting in for free. They do in every other ground in the country so why shouldn't they here ? The visitor doesn't give us daily updates because we don't have info to report day in day out in the club. Sometimes Adam Lord reports signings or targets we have along with interest in our own players so hopefully the guy replacing him will do a good job like he did !
