Big Sam is the best choice

I agree with Rio Ferdinand and others who have pointed out we've no football identity(style)

Brazil have their own style (sexy football
Holland have their own style (total football)
Germany have their own style (well tuned machine )
Italy have their own style (defensive well drilled)
Spain have their own style (tip tap)

so when our players are playing and we have inpatient fans on the sidelines screaming at them to hit long balls into the box right down to grass roots with parents then that's our identity(long ball)

bring on Andy Carroll and players who are 6ft + and be the best at being like that.

Personally I would have liked to see Klinsmann as he has experience of taking a team deep into tournaments as well as having won international trophies as a player. He also understands English football and culture and comes across as a decent guy players would want to play for.

Big Sam though is a far better choice than other English managers and I think he will do well. Be interesting to see how he manages better players than he is used to though and whether he will get the team playing attractive footy or not. Personally I don't care right now as long as we stop flopping at tournaments.

Not before time too! He should've been offered the job years ago (when Capello got it, if I'm not mistaken) so now he's getting the chance to have a go. At least we'll no longer need to worry about "what might have been".
