Kind of related to another topic on here!
How the hell have they got away with this? Bank Holiday weekend & the vintage festival, the 2 busiest weekends of the year, and the prom is closed!!!!!
A lot of lorries use the prom (& other people of course!!) to get from Heysham to the motorway at Carnforth, couldn't they just wait a bit to start the digging, 'til after holiday season?, 'til the link road is finished?
I have contacted the Visitor twice now, over recent weeks, but it mustn't be deemed very important!
Read what/where/when here - http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/media/898549/ttro-02.pdf

(It is in the public notices section of Viz this week)

They must be busy collating stories about the new X Box game releases or the like.

Most closures like that Neil are granted for a long period so in the case of an overrun they don't have to re-apply.

The other bizarre thing about this is- The temporary prohibition is necessary to enable new crossing point to be put in place

as if the one outside The Royal & the one by the Clock Tower aren't enough!
I imagine they will do away with 1 or both of these existing crossings?
In that case is it a lot of money spent for not much gain?

bah! humbug! bring back the birch, national service for the lot of 'em, that'd sort 'em out,
that's what I say!

roll on this time next week, I'll be nearly across to The Isle of Keith.

Pity they don't regard the prom road surface of greater priority especially around the Midland and Prom Station areas.

This wouldn't be allowed to happen in Brighton.....

Agreed that bit of road has been like that for a long time, would be better fixing all the potholes around the town instead of wasting money on yet another crossing.
