Room for 3900 more?

Great turnout tonight. Looked a lot more than the 2542 official crowd. No way they could fit in an extra 3900. Don't think there was room for 3000.
PMG a sell-out apparently. Met a guy walking away disgruntled and had to go in the Omega with my sis who has some probs standing. Saw loads of empty seats though including a bock of white seats next to C1.
Think we need more seats on the north side for big games and to accommodate bigger away followings. Hopefully these office block plans don't stop this from happening.

Fantastic turnout of 2253 home fans which is 907 more than Accy had tonight.

Didn't we squeeze 5000 in for the Burnley game at the same stage in 2010?

Yeah but they do have a cup final on Saturday which is obviously more important

There were 3600 at the accy game, they raked it in off the telly money ,and the result gives them a lucrative 3rd round tie to look forward to, so I wouldn't laugh too loud, our pmg stand obviouslly holds far less fans than its official capacity if it was full?

Maybe you were in the Omega where it can feel more full than it actually is. I was in the north terrace and the Omega wasn't that full.
Also don't forget we can stand on every single step if we had to, however at the minute we stand on every other step so we are not directly infront of someone's face!

Would the empty seats be ones where tickets had been handed out to sponsors or schools and then they haven't turned up ?

It was almost half-price in the PMG - it's possible/likely people bought tickets for others who then didn't turn up.
Without wishing to directly criticise anyone, it was possible to buy tickets online for the match and collect them at the ground.

It was a decent effort to get nearly 2,200 home fans along on a Tuesday.
The first 3 home matches have shown much improved home turnouts and if the team continue to play like they have in those 3 matches then the average should climb.

For a match against a Premier League team, on a pleasant summer evening, with reduced admission, I'm pretty disappointed with that attendance.

It just shows what a long haul back it is from those dark days last Winter when we had several gates for which the total crowd was only just over 1,000.
Keep playing the way we are , with the skill , spirit and heart we have shown in the first 3 games and crowds will increase.
We have had over 8,000 people at 3 home games of which circa 5,000 were home fans. There is light at the end of the tunnel and its not a train coming !

There's was definitely more in the omega than what was said its sort of the Blackpool level of attendance in the stand and the pmg was quite full apart from the Bournemouth fans and of course the bay radio stand was closed

Watched the game on tv over here in Dubai. Was surprised to see so many empty seats against Premier League opposition.
I remember driving back up from Uni to watch them play Hull in the FA Cup in 1991-92 season. Christie Park was jam pack full that day.
Great effort from the team though. Surprised I didn't wake the Mrs (and a few neighbours) up when we hit the bar at the end.

Have any anoraks got the crowd figure for that Hull game ?
Was it much more than 2,500 ?

Definitely need more seats available to home fans. As I saw, some fans would rather turn their backs and walk home than stand, which with the ground at 40% capacity is rediculous. With the restricted view seats, away ones and those lost to segregation I reckon we only have about 1300 available to home fans. We need another 1000 or so building on the opposite side next to the community block. These offices proposed could surely be built on the land at the front?

Based on current attendances I disagree. We can't afford to build extra seats for the 1 match every couple of years where the main stand sells out. Tickets were available for the main stand a week before the match, both in the shop and online.

The most mental proposal for use of clubs funds I've ever seen. We could realistically half the number of seats and for 99% of games we still wouldn't sell out.

Yes and attendances won't grow with an approach like that. 2500 is hardly a huge crowd but if fans are walking away or being forced to stand despite their health conditions, we need to look at facilities we can offer and try better to give them what they want. More seats give more options also to take bigger away followings, which even in League 2 could be exploited every season.

So when we don't have the money to build the office block, don't have the money to build a proper bar facility for fans in the home end and numerous other things we don't have the money for you think we should build a new all seater stand because the 2000 all seater stand we have isn't big enough for us when we rarely get over 2000 fans in the whole ground, never mind in just one stand! Bonkers!

We'll need to agree to disagree then.
The rare times when a bigger away following is needed, they make use of the North Terrace.
I don't want to sound cruel, but for a match was that likely to be popular due to the opposition and reduced price, someone who needs a seat should be ensuring they obtain a ticket prior to the match.

MG is perfectly correct in his assessment of the need for fans who need a seat to obtain tickets prior to games.

Talk of a sellout in the PMG surprises me. The lad and his dad next to me got their regular season ticket seats online fewer than 2 hours before kickoff.

All academic I know really until the massive IF of some significant investment comes in.
Just hope whoever comes in sees the shortfalls in the Globe as means to grow a fanbase and doesn't landlock in the stadium with office blocks, hotels etc.
In the short term, we need to look at how we can free up extra seats where necessary. We could have moved the segregation fence over to free up extra seats in B Block, sold some with restricted view ones at a greater discount and given freebies away to terraced areas instead.
