Hi MFC fans

Shrews fan logging in to say hello and kind of get some input,

Big links suggest JB with our current managerial position...

Me personally, don't think atm he is ready for the job. All be it doing an ok job with yourselves. Id prefer somebody with league 1 experience to get us out of a tricky situation.

I've always liked what JB has done for you guys and reading this forum can see is abit of a cult hero.

Where do you stand on him coming to us and more importantly for you, Who then replaces him? Who Bentley be good enough in League 1?

Cult hero is an understatement !!

(Welcome to our forum by the way :D )

I really don't want to see Jim leave here as he is the right man for our job in hand.

We had the same situation a fair few years ago when Sammy McIlroy was in charge at Morecambe and it was rumoured that Shrewsbury were chasing him. Nothing ever came of that, and I hope the result is the same in this latest speculation.

Certainly a surprise if he was on the Shrews list.

Timing would be strange with our takeover just being completed and we are owned by a Brazilian and a Qatarian businessman so he can expect an increased budget at some point.

If Shrewbury are genuinely interested in Bentley, then why are they interested? Do they look at his record with us and make assumptions about us having possibly the smallest budget in the league? Therefore they consider our final league positions to be an over achievement as we have avoided relegation? Or do clubs scout managers in the same way they scout players. Do they attend games and look at style of play, formations, flexibility, use of subs and the way they conduct themselves on the touchline etc?

I don't think he's experienced enough to manage a League One side at the moment, so I don't see the point in any interest being shown or speculation made.

Jim is what he is, abit like Sam allardyce type of style really you can be confident of avoiding the drop every season with him in charge but won't really know what he's like managing with a big budget at one of the higher teams in a league until he gets his chance !
