I am looking for some help regarding a photo of J B Christie

I have searched online and found very little in the way of images, and those that I have found - I am not sure if it is the man himself.

Does anyone have any ? which they are willing to share

Anyone have any connections with his family and could maybe help.

Thanks in advance

Dave

There was a poster on here mate who had his photo as his avatar.

Not seen him on for a while.

There was also some pics of him in the programmes during the last Christie season.

Am sure there was one in last Aldershot issue too

Ockers was editor then who has since sadly passed away.

I've got all mine here, I'll have a look during the week for you no problem.

A little harsh and possibly disrespectful

but

change Globe Arena to any of the following or similar

"The JB Christie Stadium"
"JB Christie Community Arena"

More chance of the fans' bar finally being rebranded.................

I would be very grateful if you could take the time, I have been told to try contacting Martin Shaw and Lawrence Bland (apologies if names spelt incorrectly)

Does anyone know either of these two, again - anyone who could put me in contact

any contact details, please discuss via private message

much appreciated

Dave

Getting some amazing help, from various people

I have learnt that Joseph Barnes Christie was his full name...

believed to have been born in Accrington, 17th May, 1853, died in Morecambe 1st June, 1929

Josefs father being, John Christie, born in 1827, Church, Lancs, Died in 1902, Southport

Josefs mother being, Alice Barnes, Born in 1825, Church, Lancs, Died in 1902, Southport

What were the chances that our creator and his family originate from Accrington

EDIT - I have now found conflicting infomation

Excellent, thanks

all the info is starting to come together, if anyone has more images or the same but bigger and better

There are little nuggets of info regarding him and MFC, scattered around the W W W

I don't want to divulge why I am doing all this, but I am hoping if I am successful, all MFC supporters will appreciate the result

I am very grateful for all your help so far.......

Sounds interesting....

There was also I'm sure in the last season at CP programmes a team group photograph from the 1920's which featured the great man on the photograph also.

I'll have a dig for you !!

I believe I may have access to this tomorrow, possibly an original photo

I also believe that the Aldershot programme has his picture in

Does anyone have access to any of Ocker's photos, please don't go asking his family or anything, I don't know them or himself and would not want to cause any upset etc (just wondered if his old media was passed on to a friend or anything)

Just looked through my Aldershot last programme and there's no picture in there Dave.

I'll check the other game issues that season asap for you.

I supplied Ockers with match photos and I think he may have shared some older photos with me. I'll have a dig over the weekend and let you know if I find any.

Even if it is the same, I would appreciate having it, the photo I have is a photocopy of a photo

a digital copy would be nice

Can you call it digital when they are 1920 pictures which must have been scanned.........
