Oddly, next Sunday may actually be a good game for us to play at home. We're the underdogs because we're playing a side from a league above us so no expectation of a victory. Today we were playing a team who were in a relegation spot at 3pm, so of course our fans thought we should be capable of winning! With the pressure of expectation off us, we may actually be able to play, as we do away from home?

Secondly, I'd love someone to ask Jim to think back to when he was playing. Did he prefer to play in a game where the ball was lumped up to the attacker, giving him a chance to win the ball with his head, or did he prefer to play in matches where a quick, skilful attacker ran at him with the ball at his feet? From my memory, Jim would take an ariel bombardment every day of the week. In which case, why do we play that way when we're attacking? We've got some skill & pace in the side, so use it. Frighten the defence rather than playing their way.

Big, big, BIG game for us next week. Jim must know time is running short. We may not win next week (obviously... we're at home) but we need to put in a good performance. Going out of the FA Cup with a whimper won't be acceptable.

I wonder what IS acceptable? 6 straight league defeats, woeful football.... were we this poor under sammy mac?? Or is everybody happy to be in the football league even if it means finishing 3rd or 4th bottom every season?

From what I can see, the main reason we constantly play it long is we are always closed down quickly by opposing attackers . Compere that with their defenders who seem to have all the time in the world to travel forward thirty yards with complete ease. Same at the other end where they cross, shoot or pass to teammates without anybody putting in a meaningful challenge. It drives me barmy watching it!

Lose a very winnable game next week and we may as well give up for the rest of the season, as it doesn't appear like there's anything left to look forward to.

In today's programme JB says we are entering a very important time in our season, hasn't started too well has it? Could be very embarrassing next week on the BBC, with their goal action reporting we could end up looking like a live game!!

Except it ISN'T "6 straight league defeats" is it? In the last six games we've drawn with Barnet & Colchester and beaten Notts County.

Not simply being a pedant. Our away form is super. Our home form is dire. If our away form was even average, then things would be... completely unacceptable. If we swapped our home form & away form directly over, people would actually be quite happy.

We've had the argument about swoping home and away form for three seasons now, and there's been no improvement in the home.form - if anything it has got worse.

People are angry, have had enough and rightly so. I'm £51 better off through missing the last three home league matches. I don't know if I can be arsed to go next week, and I'm far from the only one. As the weather gets worse, it can't be long til we get the first sub 1000 league attendance at the globe.
