What would everyone do in January?
Jennings, Massanka, Whitmore & Dunn can all go for me. Jennings has been poor, Massanka doesn't appear to be anything special and Dunn hasn't really had any impact other than the Rotherham game. Whitmore hasn't been too bad I don't think but I'd like to bring in another defender and as Edwards and Winnard are under contract he'll have to be sacrificed.
2 new full backs and a new centre back would be a priority, all with experience at League 2 level. It's a shame we couldn't have signed Kennedy who was on trial in pre season as he would have been perfect and exactly what we need.
If we could extend Stocktons loan until the end of the season and bring in another striker to provide competition then that would be great.
I'm willing to perservere with the midfield seeing as we should have Wildig & Kenyon back then but if there was room in the budget to bring in a creative, attacking midfielder then that would be ideal.

Why
"sorry to say"? You've been repeating the '
sack the management' mantra at the first signs of a problem for ages now.
So you're saying, if Jim suddenly became the England manager, he'd want top Premiership players to play the same way as Morecambe currently are? You don't think there's a chance that Jim is playing in a manner that he believes is the best way that the players he has can achieve?
You might be correct to say that, if that is what you believe. But I'd like to see what Jim would do if he could choose better quality players. If there's still no improvement,
THEN I would agree, we need a change.

I've been keeping away forum the forum for past few weeks just far too much negativity around after what has happened this year (for me) is a bit too much to do anything but to see the club in general colaspsing but this had always been on the cards now fo many years after budget cuts jim can only go far with this type of fianances would any other manager stick around and put up with this type of crap for years for one.

It is not negativity it is fans general concern regarding our home form and passion for the club. Every fan up and down the country are negative on match days we are no different. Some on here don't like change and will be happy for Jim to be manager in whatever division we are in, however many like me are concerned with our once hard core fans dwindling by the minute. Surely if this continues heads will be rolling especially by a chairman who just bought the club. Excuses about finances don't excuse the matter. John Coleman went for years with a poor budget but managed to get players who performed most weeks, why are we any different?

Whoever is in charge in January needs to bring in players who are willing and able to tackle for the ball. Saturday was a joke. Barely anyone made any attempt to get the ball off the opposition. McGowan, Jennings, Kev and Barky just run back when an opposition player is running with the ball and then just stand there giving plenty of time for support players to come up, whilst all the other Morecambe players are in the middle getting in each-other's way!
For the first half, only Rose made any attempt at tacking. At least with the subs, both Dunn and Massanka started to cause them problems by attempting blocks and tackles, with both successfully getting the ball a few times.
I hate to say it, but we really missed Flemmo and Kenyon who are the only players who seem able to tackle and get the ball off the opposition. Last season we also had Goodall, and of course, prior to that we had Drummy who was happy to tackle. We're also missing Parrish who wasn't afraid of getting a foot in to stop a run.

Jennings frustrated the living daylights out of me on Saturday with his constant backing off.

Agreed, but not half as much as Kev - I don't think I've ever seen him tackle or steal the ball - too slow with his feet - he just runs back and then spreads himself out and stands there. Mc Gowan was also pretty poor on the other side, doing the same and not helped by Barky who just stood there marking no-one. Time and time again McGowan/Barky made it far too easy for the opposition to run in around them.
Sadly Jennings/Kev on one side and McGowan/Barky on the other was a recipe for disaster - 4 players who just didn't tackle and their marking was poor too.
Still can't believe that Jim got rid of Parrish, Beeley and Dugdale, but kept Edwards and Conlan, and then brought in players who look actually worse than Parrish and Beeley. If he didn't have a good replacement lined up, he should have kept Paz - at least he could play anywhere along the back.

I think at the end of the season , we didn't have a new owner imminent so any players who had been under par and out of contract were released _ Beeley , Dugdale and Parrish as well as the already gone Wilson.
Whitmore came in on loan which will have been a cheaper option.
I liked the look of Tom Kennedy as a solid no nonsense experienced left back. He signed for AFC Fylde but maybe he could be tempted back in January depending on what sort of contract he is on.
Someone similar as right back would be great.
Jim has been unlucky losing key men like Fleming and Wildig to injuries. I really rate Wildig and hope he can have an injury free run in the team.

Agreed about Jennings Massanka and Whitmore although Whitmore may be one to look at in the Summer if he is released.
With Dunn , I think if Liverpool allow him to stay then he needs to be doing a lot more , he is talented and knows how to finish. He's also the only one who looks like he can score a penalty.
I would also like Stockton on a more permanent basis if possible.
We need at least one more centre half if Whitmore goes and ideally he will be more experienced. Ryan Cresswell went to Eastleigh and he would have been the sort I would like.
Lots of people on here slated The Moose but we had a much better defence when he was here not to mention 9 goals in one season from him !

McGowan has been poor in every game I have seen him. I know he is 'one of our own' but he is not good enough at this level, and when let go, would struggle to get a club even in the conference.

As do most of our players when released.

I actually like Whitmore and think that, when fit, Winnard is the sort of experienced, rugged, league 2 defender that we have been missing. Think that Wakefield had been a good addition too. McGowan has struggled a bit but is clearly not the first choice. He's still young as well with potential to improve.
My biggest disappointment has been the shadow that is our captain. Thought he was genuine quality before his injury and, unfortunately, it seems as though he is no longer the same player. I'm hoping that more game time might perhaps rectify this but he's had quite a few games and he still looks well off the pace.
Not sure what to make of Massanka. You can't really impose yourself with 5 minutes here and there. However, what's the alternative- taking out Stockton? No thanks. We need to get him sorted as well as he's been great at holding the ball up, creating his own chances on the turn and finding the back of the net.
The home form has been awful-can we swap our home season ticket for an away one??!! However, it's still my team and I'll always get behind them. COYS!
