Administration

Following today's news does anybody on here think that there is a risk of the club going into administration, and thus a points deduction which ultimately would lead to relegation. Or can money be injected into the club to keep the club going. The news doesn't look good, neither does any words from the owners/directors. It is disappointing given the positivity after the 'takeover' that the club is in thi situation. The are clubs the size of ours which are surviving in the league such as Accrington, Stevenage and even Burton Albion there is no reason why morecambe can't.

This could be something really simple like a new bank account or movement of funds etc etc
We need to wait for facts before we overreact

It is very difficult to maintain and run a football club at any level (except for the huge clubs at the top of the Premier League), and of course for Morecambe it is no different, given attendances generally are between 1000-1500 > with this income it is difficult for the club to break even.
I am not saying it is an impossible job, we are one of the smallest clubs in the league in terms of fanbase, similar to Accrington, Stevenage, Crawley, Barnet. But it is possible to survive, the club has managed to do so for 10 years now - an incredible achievement.
There are clubs far bigger than ourselves have fallen through the trapdoor and struggled to come back, Stockport County being a prime example.
If the club can find a way of improving home form (and thus gates), shrewd transfer policy promoting youth, free tansfers and loan players, good management on and off the pitch, and of course a git of luck, the club should be able to continue its position in the FL.
