New 100 Club

I'm seriously giving some thought to starting a 100 Club with members paying £10 per month (12 months minimum membership) with a monthly prize draw of £250 for qualifying members.
Before I approach the club about it, can I please get some feedback from my fellow SVers as to whether they would be prepared to join.
The Club would operate an independant Bank Account from the club but would be under the supervision / signature of a Director subject to their agreement.
All monies generated by the Club would be paid to the football club on a month to month basis.
The 100 Club would only come into fruition as and when there are 100 members signed up and subscriptions would be via Direct Debit on the first of every month with the draw taking place on the 7th of that month.
Winners would be notified by SV's and e-mail. Payment would be in the form of a cheque made out to the winner or nominated recipient.
As I have said I need feedback on this proposal before I approach the club with the idea for their approval.
Cheers
Neil R

Thanks to all those who have indicated their interest. Still a long way to go but encouraging.
Will try to get some handouts done ASAP for distribution in the bars at The Globe.

Count me in as well, Neil. I have also got a long term fan who doesn't post on here, who says count him in too.
It's early days, but can I suggest that if there is the one monthly prize, then no 'number' can be drawn out twice in a 12 month period

I bet it's something about the organiser needing a gambling licence or something.

They do have to be registered at the Town Hall.

Red tape strikes again.....
Not the clubs fault but unfortunately due to restrictions of the Gambling Act the idea would appear to be a non starter.
Looks as though I should have done my homework before posting the idea.
Sorry everybody but it would appear that the idea although well intended is a non starter....
Embarrassed and frustrated.....

Bollocks to them
We'll run it ourselves and donate the money to the club.

It was a nice thought Niel, ,but doomed from the off as it is actually gambling, I wasn't going to be the one to spoil it for you
I am thinking of selling home brew at a pound a pint if anyone wants to buy any ,I,ll give the profits after my expenses to the club

By the sounds of it any scheme could contravene the Gambling Act....no matter how well intended it is.

Nope
Ways around just don't involve the club.because nobody is actually bothered about winning.
